Ok…thanks. I got confused. There are 2 shows I watch that are on Thursdays (Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy) and two on Sundays (Revenge and Walking Dead). I never watch them when they are on, only ON DEMAND and every so often I get confused as to what is showing which day. I’ve never watched Parenthood before and we’ve been binge watching that on Netflix…currently on Season 2. How did I miss such a great show? Used to watch Once Upon a Time, but didn’t enjoy this season’t story line, so haven’t been following.

I sure hope they don’t kill off Carol…she’s always been a favorite…but it’s just like Walking Dead to do something like that.

I worry about that, too. You get a few episodes, a spotlight on your character, and BOOM, you are gone. And don’t yo dare become the moral compass of the group.

I agree! Dale, Herschel…the list goes on.

It also seems like there’s a limit (quota? this is CC, after all) on how many black characters they can have at one time. Remember T-dog? Nothing had better happen to Michonne - but watch out, Noah.

Or Sasha is toast. I do feel a winnowing of characters moving forward must be coming. Maybe some stay behind at the hospital after it is liberated but I’m sure we’re in for one of those “very special” episodes where a major character is lost with a big emotional punch. Bottom line is the only character that can be considered “safe” is Rick because he basically is the show, much as Mr. White was the center of BB. I would include Carl as safe as well just because I have long thought that the underlying plot is the shaping of Carl as a future leader of the new world-as-it-is when Rick is either gone or too old. (Not that the show will go there, but that’s how I think of it as a novel.)

I also think Judith is safe…she represents hope imo. The tv show has not been as dark as the WD comics so I think keeping hope alive is still part of the story.

I think you’re right, Jazzymom. Shane, Laurie, Hershel, Dale, Andrea - no one is safe.

I do hope that Daryl makes it…and Michonne. (And I do like Carol too.) But I hold no illusions that anyone is safe, except for Rick. After all, if this were the graphic novel, both Daryl and Carol would be dead by now.

Help! I think we will be driving when it comes on tonight. Is there a website where I can watch it later? My cable co has delayed viewing but dk if my destination does.

I thought we would be at our destination in time, but now I doubt we will.

Looks like you can watch full episodes on line here:

<a href=“AMC | Watch TV Shows & Movies Online | Stream Current Episodes”>AMC | Watch TV Shows & Movies Online | Stream Current Episodes;

I don’t know if viewing is available right away or if there’s a delay before it goes online.

That last episode was kind of a hot mess.

I don’t mind a certain amount of suspension of disbelief ---- that Rick could use a hunk of wood to get himself out of plastic-tie cuffs in the Termino building for example ---- but glaring flaws in a do-or-die plan should not be ignored. How could Daryl be agreeing with a hostage exchange when he saw for himself how badly Carol was hurt? Actually, presumably, they all heard the story of how she was injured…shouldn’t it occur to one of them that she wouldn’t be able to walk out of there? IOW, they go with a plan to work a hostage exchange for someone who NEEDS to stay in
there. Makes no sense.

Is there just one episode left? All the excitement and extreme gore was in the first episode. These last few are a bit slower.

^^ I agree. This season started out with such a bang, so I guess it’s only natural that things have slowed down a bit. I’m guessing they’re saving all the fireworks for Sunday night.

Really, Sasha - why would you turn your back on Policeman Bob (just because his name is “Bob”? Really?)

I hate these 8 episode seasons! I wish they would do away with them. I agree…the last few episodes have been slower. I feel really bummed about Eugene and I couldn’t wait to see what was in DC, too. Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy ended last week and I’m not ready for that. Revenge will end in a week. What’s everybody going to watch in December and January?

Downtown Abbey?

I also like Covert Affairs and Person of Interest.

another vote for Downton Abbey! I also like Major Crimes (even tough it’s not as good as its predecessor, The Closer…)

What, no comments on last night’s episode yet?? Holy crap!

@JustaMom5465 - I’ve been thinking about it ALL NIGHT! (I even dreamed about it…)

First let me get this off my chest - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I did not see that coming - I mean, I figured that Dawn was going to die, but I didn’t foresee what was coming next.

And then there was Daryl in tears, and poor Maggie (…although I’m still kind of miffed at Maggie, who not once said “I miss Beth” all season). What a sad ending to a really great half-season. I watched the Walking Dead marathon yesterday afternoon, and I think that overall, these 8 episodes create quite the story arc.

And there was Morgan AGAIN at the end. What’s up with him?

Two shockers in that episode for me.

I was anticipating either Beth or Carol would die because of the leaks to the press about how “heartbreaking” it was going to be, but I thought that the writers wouldn’t be able to resist the Maggie-Beth reunion scene before letting that character go so I was thinking it was going to be Carol. She codes…there’s chaos…gun battle erupts and more are killed on both sides. ( I thought Sasha or Tyreese would be leaving as well. ) In my version of the episode, Rick takes out Dawn and the other cops give up. There’s at least a few scenes where the group checks out the hospital as a potential sanctuary — the farm and guinea-pig breeding — before deciding to move on.

The other shocker was Rick mowing down the fleeing police officer. It was thrillingly badass and all that but it was so unnecessary…he just had to pull up and cut him off with the car and haul him back in. Then, when Dawn made her move to get Noah, they would still have someone to trade.

And why did the writers make it so the good cop (supposedly) goes down but the nasty one who wanted to kill Daryl gets to stay on at the hospital? I would have felt better if it was clear the hospital was going to be run by good guys when Rick and company left.

Morgan reuniting with Rick is coming…so that will be bad news for Sasha, Tyreese or Noah, I guess. Building up anticipation for the next location in Virginia.

I have to review what happened with Morgan last time he appeared. I remember him from the first episode but not from later.

@scout59 …I have to laugh about the power of suggestion. I watched it last night On Demand, then came to CC to read everyone’s comments about the show. I read that you dreamed about it. Well…I actually did too, last night. Not from the current show, but my own Made up WD scenario…haha. It woke me up at 12:30. I thought for crying out loud…all I did was read that you dreamed about it, how weird is that?

Anyway, I had a feeling Beth was a goner…I saw it coming, just didnt know how. It was really sad though. Seeing the change in Rick is pretty scary and I wonder where they are leading his character.

It was a decent mid season finale, looking forward to February.

I remind myself now and then that the writers are walking a tightrope to create a show that appeals to a mass audience (most of us) and yet not disappoint the legions of fans of the original ultra-violent comic-novel. The scene where the officer goes flying after being struck is what keeps the comic book fans coming back, while my reaction is like “well, that really wasn’t necessary.”
