<a href=“'The Walking Dead' Spinoff: Everything We Know So Far”>'The Walking Dead' Spinoff: Everything We Know So Far;

Been avoiding this thread until I caught up. Not a fan of this season, it feels like they are running out of ideas and amping up the violence to ever more extreme levels to compensate. It was pretty clear that Teminus would be terminal but that slaughterhouse scene - frankly couldn’t believe that made it onto TV, even cable.

The conversation Glenn and Maggie must have had about the “plate” that was fixed for them on arrival must have been off screen - that could have been interesting!

Too many continuity problems…suddenly the freeway into Atlanta is cleared of abandoned cars apparently.

More spinoff news- the setting will be Los Angeles and filming will begin in early 2015.

They had the freeway INTO Atlanta clear when Rick rode in on a horse…it was the freeway out that was jammed.

Media picked up on the comparison when a snowstorm snarled traffic on the highway out of the city.

^^ Ha - I loved the comparison of zombie Atlanta to snowstorm Atlanta!

The continuity of *The Walking Dead * doesn’t bother me - I just can’t believe they’re STILL in Georgia!

^ Actually I’m glad they are still here. I just wish I could have been a extra in one of the episodes… But they want really skinny people for zombies. :@)

snowdog: Hadn’t thought about that. You can’t “uneat” that. lol

I’m bumping this thread because (as we all know) the mid-season premiere is this Sunday!
According to this article in “Rolling Stone,” a “beloved character” may be eliminated on Sunday (warning - possible spoilers inside, if you’re not up-to-date with the series):
All I can say is, Carol, Daryl, and Michonne had better be okay…
I’m just not sure about the article where it says they are setting off for a new destination. The reason I say that is that they filmed this season in Senoia,GA. They even built a 15 foot wall to enclose 10 homes there…
However they are working on a spin-off show and that will not be set in Georgia.
The spin-off show appears to be set in LA: http://www.ew.com/article/2014/12/16/walking-dead-los-angeles
If you saw the 2-minute trailer that was released earlier this week, it sounds as if the group is heading to Richmond VA, which is where the black teenager is from. Back when they were both in the hospital in Atlanta, Beth promised him that she would help him get back home to Richmond, and it sounds as if Rick intends to keep her promise.
Maybe they’re using GA locations as stand-ins for VA:
Another one bites the dust.
Rats. I really liked him, too. Just another example of how those characters with a moral compass - Dale, Hershel - don’t always last very long.
Of course, even the characters without a moral compass - Lizzie, Shane - don’t last very long either.
I really don’t like “ghost” episodes. I do like how unexpected attacks can be - just because they were just coming off a harrowing episode doesn’t mean they can let their guard down.
I don’t know maybe it’s just me but the show last night didn’t really keep my attention like other episodes have. I ended up on the computer while I was watching…
Not my favorite episode either, but I was spoiled by all the action and plot twists from last season.
Equally disappointed. The writers seem to be out of new ideas.
Not a favorite season opener, that’s for sure. I was surprised that someone died right away though. I really thought he was going to make it. I liked him, very sad.
Oh my. Could last night’s episode have been more boring? I get the whole it’s brutal-out-here-we’re-barely-hanging-on motif, but honestly, if something doesn’t happen soon…
Although the appearance of Aaron could be a good sign.
DH and I went to Senoia last week. We saw the “wall” that they have built around some houses that they use in the show. Anyway I think I saw the wall in the preview for next week. Kind of cool to see things like that. Although they have torn down the Woodbury town hall. Kind of bummed about that.
The show needs to pick up the pace.
If they were so thirsty due to lack of water, why was the foliage so green? What was up with the sprinkling of dead frogs? Do earthworms quench thirst? Who is Aaron?
