Walking Dead 2014

Title of the spinoff show has been announced: Fear The Walking Dead

If anyone likes spoilers and wants to read a full plot summary of Sunday’s season finale, it can be found at the “Spoiling Dead Fans” facebook page.

I just found out that a friend (a young woman that my D used to dance with) has a role in the spin off.

When does the next season start? When does the spinoff begin?

The new show (“Fear the Walking Dead”) has a six-show run that starts in “late summer” - I haven’t seen a firm start date yet. “The Walking Dead” returns in October.

And may I say - welcome back, Morgan!

Very good episode..... the "Ricktatorship" is back. Not entirely bloodless, though. I think Carol told Rick to hold back using the gun because she wanted Pete to attack with the sword first and prove Rick's point about Pete....and that cost Reg his life.

Loved the return of Morgan. He’s an excellent actor and they seem to write the best dialogue for him too. He’ll have to reconcile that no-kill “life is precious” attitude with the new take-no-prisoners Rick approach. Earlier in the show, I think Morgan should have killed the two Wolf guys ---- leaving it for the walkers to do the job is a lapse in judgement and they will obviously be coming back to attack ASZ in season 6.

Glad they didn’t kill Glenn off yet, though maybe he has been bit and that drama will come later. Or maybe the irony is that Pete is gone and Glenn will need a surgeon because of the bullet wound.

Small quibble: If Rick closed and barred the gate after finding it open, then how did Aaron, Daryl and Morgan just walk on in?

On the Talking Dead last night, the actor who plays Morgan said he didn’t blow the car horn to bring Walkers to the Wolves, but to check and see if any Walkers were in the area before departing. Didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me, but that’s not a rare thing on this show. Consistency in plotting and characterization is not its strong point. On the other hand, the decapitation of three Walkers in one fell swoop of a whip last night was the kind of thing that keeps me watching (and I’m not exactly proud of that).

I thought after Rick dropped the Walker and said that the gate was open, they dispatched the other guy (the younger guy, I forget his name) back to the gate to stand watch?

Ah, I didn’t notice that he (was it Spencer?) left. Gonna have to watch this one again…I also didn’t clearly catch the dialogue between Glenn and Nick when they were on the ground and Glenn had the gun. I thought Glenn said, “you got me killed” which I took to mean he got bitten.

Whole new world coming for ASZ in season 6. I can’t imagine that they can just let people go in and out of the gates whenever anymore. And how can they keep consuming the food stores as though they can always get out to replenish? I thought about that watching the scene of Daryl eating spaghetti at Aaron and Eric’s place…the serving bowl had a huge amount of food for three people, considering zombie apocalypse and all.

We should be seeing residents training with weapons and efforts at growing food.

Will Morgan stay? What will be his job I wonder.

^ Not only food…solar is great but if there is no factory making light bulbs, what then? I will suspend disbelief and assume that the whole place has 30-year LEDs. I find myself looking at those freshly painted porches and railings and wondering when they will run out of white paint too.

This season has been the most disturbing to me. This idyllic community so separate from the reality of the show’s NOW, makes me shiver how their ignorance and selfishness is going to get a lot of good people killed. I really wish Rick and his group would just move on. I’m actually not looking forward to next season now.

@madison85 - Yep. This is the second walking dead cast member arrested for DUI in our town. The first was Scott Wilson ( Hershel) back in 2012…

As soon as I saw the reference to TWD priest, I said to myself “OH YEAH! THAT"S who that was!”

Seth Gilliam was on The Good Wife last night (and I think before that, too). It was driving me crazy.

Did you see the actor who plays Tyreese’s rant on the NY subway?

OOh - I like how two of the early protagonists are school teachers:

Not so sure about this, though - whoever said that Andrea was a “beloved character”?? Not for me, she wasn’t:

Yeah, what would Andrea or any actual beloved characters be doing all the way over on the West coast?

Ditto for us on Andrea not being a “beloved character”! We couldn’t wait for her to go!

A bunch of us went and saw the new “Mad Max” movie this weekend. It is mindless, unending action/violence and for some reason we all loved it. However, in a silly what-if discussion afterwards, we were all pretty much in agreement that between TWD and Mad Max scenarios, we all just want to be in the first wave that goes in case of such an Apocalyptic event. No waking up to have a zombie chewing on me or one of my loved ones!!! Just get it over with quickly!
