As the title says, what is the difference between the views on the forum? I did read the FAQ and search archives but could not find an answer. If there is some other help source I should look at please let me know. Thank you!
New are new threads. Latest are existing threads with new responses.

I see, thank you! Is there a view to see the latest on just the categories I am interested in, rather than the latest for all of CC?

Latest: Any existing threads that had new posts.

Unread: Threads you are actively participating in, or are watching(have “tagged”) that have new posts.
I personally find, that checking “New” helps me see a short list of threads, where I can consider if I will follow them. If I don’t follow them, they will eventually scroll away. If I do follow them, they’ll start appearing in “Unread” if there’s new activity.
Next, I check “Unread” to see which of my threads of interest had new activity.
