When iGoogle disappears

So… iGoogle ceases to be in November of 2013. And, surprisingly, I care!

Because I use iGoogle as my home page and I have all sorts of gagdets on the page that make it perfect for me. Weather in several cities I frequent; Spanish word of the day, idiom of the day, verb of the day etc. Google translate gadgets for Spanish-English and the reverse… NY Times headlines, my Google calendar, gmail, mapquest gadget…

Actually I won’t miss the last 3 and probably not even the weather. But I love having my Spanish language gadgets on my home page. It’s part of my daily routine in becoming bilingual.

So far I’m not participating in Google+ (if that’s relevant) and I don’t use Google Chrome either at this point.

How do I get the same sort of great home page, personalized to me?

I know I’ll get Plain English guidance from the smarter people than I here in the Cafe.

Thanks in advance.

I am sad about igoogle too. But fall of '13…there could be all kins of cool sites around then that will fill the void, no?

I have this problem, too. DS says that protopage ([Protopage RSS Reader and Start Page](http://www.protopage.com)) might be a good replacement, so I plan to try that out.

He actually said that he’s heard that newer operating systems will be set up more like smart phones and that I’d just position widgets around the screen like I do with my phone. I don’t know if I’m ready for that just yet.
