While We Were Sleeping - Upgrade

I am using my browser and an iPad. When I hit the “post comment” button, my response momentarily appears with a yellow background. Is this happening to anyone else…and why is this important?

Yes, it happens to me. On my computer it fades from the yellow to the normal background color over half a second or so.

It is just a “cool” visual effect, in here merely because they can do it, not because it is important.

I have a lot more eyestrain issues with the massive amount of white at night. During the daytime it is less of an issue. (I do have lights on in the evening, but definitely not as much light as I get in through windows in the morning. I find myself blinking a lot if I use CC in the evening.

I kinda like that soft yellow background…pleasing to the eye!

I don’t really want to read 53 pages of posts but can anyone tell me why I can’t use the CC app on either my phone or my iPad? It just endlessly tries to load no matter what I try, including deleting and reinstalling the app. I kind of miss it. The problem started on January 23rd when it would no longer update and then some time later it wouldn’t load at all.

Blue eyes and not bothered by the white here. But I am very sensitive to sunlight and have to wear sunglasses much of the time when I am driving, even if it’s a bit hazy outside.

The CC application for iPad and android is disabled. There was some issue with the change on this forum. Right now, those applications are not working for anyone. You can view cc on your phone using your browser, and th cc URL.

Thank you thumper1, I figured it was something like that. And you are right that it works on the browser.

Some of my font is changing.

Puzzled, I finally got on on my i-pad, but I’m going thru Safari.

One positive, I just went out to shovel the driveway and when I returned I could pick up where I stopped reading just the unread portion of threads. It used to be that stepping away for only a few minutes would cause a timeout and reset the last unread post.

Add me to the list of users who are not fond of the white. It’s not too bad during the day, but in the evening I usually unplug my laptop to dim the screen. There’s probably a better way, but this works and is easy.

Every laptop I’ve had has function keys that let you adjust the screen brightness up and down. What kind of laptop is it?

Look at the function keys? I’ll get my reading glasses so I can see those bitty keys.

I’ve only had this laptop a couple weeks, and hadn’t noticed the little sunshines with arrows. That was too easy. Thanks.

After becoming accustomed to a dinosaur laptop that had battery issues, it does please me to be able to remove the power cord…

Install FireFox and I can solve all your problems. ;)

There have been many comments of concern about the messages that are visible on your ‘wall’ (initially thought to be PMs).Those messages and your avatar history can be deleted by hovering over the message until the X appears and click to delete … the same way you delete drafts. They will have to be deleted one-at-a-time, but hey, at least they are gone.

They aren’t really gone if they can come back from the CC server years later. With the upgrade, old, previously deleted pms returned. had 150 reappear. If we delete hem, they should be gone once and for all.

When our admins figure this out, will they really be gone, this time?

Cannot execute pm removal through ipad.

Edited to add - you are talking about visitor messages. I am concerned about private messages.

I can delete the avatar stuff, but I cannot delete the wall posts. I don’t get the ‘x’ in the upper right corner.

SNL…how do you “hover” if you are using an iPad? I know the answer is…you can’t!

Exactly, thumper. Cannot hover. On smartphones, either.

SnL- hover where and how long? I tried this when another poster suggseted it- and just now. Nothing.
