Am I missing something re: the "new" CC?

The upside of the new format is I’m spending far less time on CC…

True story, dudedad. After more headaches the last two weeks than I have had in two months, I realize there is a correlation to viewing this forum. I use an ipad, and even making bigger really bothers my eyes. I think it is white screen.

You too (as long as you’re not on a tablet) can effectively have post numbers back. Right click (or double click if you’re on a Mac) on the date/time, and then click on whatever your browser provides similar to “copy link address” – you can then paste that into your message and get the reference to the specific post.

Let’s say I go to the “alphabetical list of colleges” page…I now have to click on every school I’m interested in to see if there are any new posts…time consuming…could just look for the yellow dot near the name of the school before.

I would imagine there are many, many CC’ers who are using a tablet or iPad on CC - as I am now. I do understand the frustrations of using those devices and having the message board not very functional to those devices.

Is there an easy way to see posters previous posts? On the old CC you could click on the posters name and be given the option to see previous posts. Now, the only way I have figured out to see posters previous posts is to use the search engine. This is more time consuming.

^^^ KatMT - Click on the poster’s avatar or screen name, then select “Replies” in the upper left.

It looks linker they are trying to be more like Facebook. They are trying to appeal to the students and not the parents.

I must say THANK YOU to the powers that be for not allowing hashtags to actually work.
I sincerely hate hashtags with a burning passion and IMO they have no place on forums. I know they’re moving towards a more social media integrated forum and I am grateful that this was one component they left out.

You said it, dudedad. This site is now the last place I surf when I have some downtime.
