So much talent in one evening!
The Jennifer Hudson elimination and the Daughtry elimination I thought were 2 of the biggest shockers on the show, but they both went on to huge success. Sometimes the winners did not have the biggest successes!
I agree that watching this, I am having moments of “Yes, fourth place was just about right for you. And you, you are lucky to have made it to 7th place.” But I still am enjoying seeing them all! (I am watching on a delay so sorry if my comments are behind, just saw Jennifer Hudson sing).
Hey, I’m good with Trent winning it all. I liked him the whole time. Farewell for now.
Ack I got pulled away and missed the end!
Trent was holding onto LaPorsha for dear life. She tried to leave the stage and he pulled her back to stay with him until Ryan said he had to perform alone as the winner! The final few really seemed to have formed a close bond.
Another thing noted - singers really can mature in voice with a few years on their back - some of these people sound SOOO much better and actually really, really good now that they are squeaky teens!
It was a great show - plenty of cheesy - but that’s AI, right?
I was happy to see Paula and Simon - but admit the whole exchange on stage seemed very, very awkward. And that AI sign for Ryan - what the heck?
Do you think the judges were surprised that La’Porsha didn’t win?
And yeah, Ryan - “for the last time…FOR NOW”. Complete AI CHEESY!!!
I absolutely did not recognize Bo Bice! And some of the names I remembered, but not the faces. I don’t remember Carly Smithson (?) at all but she sang very well. One person I noticed missing was David Archuleta.
I watched AI every season, and I thought tonight was a great way to close it out. But I know it will be back in some form…
I thought David Archuleta was part of the big opening, when they were all in white, but I could be wrong.
David A. Was there for the rehearsal festivities the last couple days (saw some photos of the two David’s together) but I read that he would not be performing.
I am watching it now and blown away by all the talent! What a treat!
Bo Bice does look great, I did not recognize him either. So much fun seeing all of them!
I haven’t watched Idol in a few years, but I tuned in last night for a few minutes. I didn’t recognize Bo Bice, he looked totally different. Jordin Sparks looked amazing!
Surprised to see Phillip Phillips there as I read he wouldn’t be.
Boy these people can sing.
Rats. I got pulled away at the end of the show and missed some of these moments. Missed Jordin.
I don’t remember seeing Haley Reinhardt. Was she there last night?
I didn’t see Haley either. My DD really liked her.
I read that LaPorsha and Trent both received a recording contract. I liked them both so I hope it’s true.
I read that many Idols were invited but would not be on stage. I believe Haley was one of them. Also, I think that first number in “white” had many people who we have no idea who they were - that was a little frustrating!
Yes, Phillip wasn’t suppose to be there because he has/had a lawsuit against 19, the Idol record producer - but I read that Nigel (the So You Think You Can Dance Guy) went ahead and invited him anyway - when the record company wouldn’t give Nigel Phillip’s phone number Nigel contacted Phillip’s lawyer and reached him that way.
I wanted the 5 WGWG (white guys with guitars) portion to go much longer!
My favorite Idol of all time will always be David Cook - love him, have seen him in concert twice and will continue to follow him.
Jordin was on a couple times during the show - she was a “back up singer” for Kara (the old judge - that performance was awkward!!), she did a duet with Justin from the first season and I think we saw her a couple other times.
I saw Haley in the audience, but not on stage. Too bad; one of the best singers AI ever had.
I only caught the tail end of the show – forgot it was on! Did Melinda Doolittle appear? I always thought she was so great but she just didn’t have the look.
These were the ones planned to perform:
