<p>I found the female lead on FNL to be really annoying. Funny thing is that I mentioned that to my friend who insisted that I watch it and he laughed and said that she was his favorite character and that she reminded him of me. Self hatred I suppose. </p>
<p>I watched her on American Horror Story though and liked her much better.</p>
<p>^^^ Are you talking about the coach’s wife? She was perfection in that role.</p>
<p>Tami Taylor is one of my favorite female characters. She specifically told Pete Berg that she didn’t want to sit in the stands and cheer on Kyle Chandler for years. How someone can dislike her boggles my mind. She also has a pretty good character arc overall. Love Connie Britton also but wish she would get off AHS. There are so many better roles for her. </p>
<p>performersmom - My guess is that Parenthood will get renewed but when it happens I have no clue. Upfronts (when networks present their programs for advertisers) is usually the first week of May and renewals happen then too. NBCis probably waiting to see how many hourlong dramas they pick up in the next couple months. In the next two months we should hear something. </p>
<p>In terms of FNL, Jason Katims has mentioned wanting to do a movie that could bring back different members of the cast. It is mostly rumors at this point but supposedly a script has been written.</p>

Most of us who are close to the theatre world are not impressed at all with the show.</p>
<p>Rescue Me was a great show. Sorry to see that one end but it had a great run. Some of my current favorites are Nurse Jackie, Treme and Boardwalk Empire. All will be back over the next few month for the next season.</p>
<p>Yep - I didn’t like the coaches’ wife character. I have a hard time liking characters with annoying voices so that is part of it. Her whiney accent with no hint of the south other than 1000 “ya’lls” was like chalk on a chalk board to me. I can’t tolerate Monica Potter on Parenthood for the same reason. </p>
<p>American Horror will be changing casts each season so she is off that - as planned. They are planning to bring back Jessica Lange though.</p>

<p>You guys are not alone in this dislike of this show. I’ve been talking about this show since last May when it they showed a trailer at the Upfronts. Woah my expectations. I am a communications major and I personally think I judge television well enough but Smash irks me like no other. Jack Davenport and Debra Messing are the only parts of that show I enjoy. </p>
<p>cartera45 - That same actress was cast in an ABC drama about a fading country star in Nashville. It if it makes it through pilot season and gets a season order (whether 13 or 22 episodes) I would be happy because Connie Britton not being on my television is kind of disappointing. Not a huge fan of the whole premise of the show though.</p>

<p>A show that I have come to really like that I didn’t expect to is Revenge on ABC. I figured, OK, she gets revenge. And then what? But it’s been consistently interesting, and even dh, who trashed it in the beginning, has gotten caught up in it. I don’t think the lead actress is great at her craft, but she suffices. And a couple of the secondary characters are really interesting/campy. Total mind candy.</p>
<p>ETA: I like Smash simply because I love song-and-dance and have no experience with MT and, therefore, no expectations whatsoever.</p>
<p>For all you FNL fans (YouDontSay, Performersmom, Mdemvizi, Musicmom)- a quick story: A few days ago D1, a Tulane sophomore, was modeling for NOLA Fashion Week. It was a Vintage show with one of a kind pieces. After the show, a woman requested to buy the dress D1 was wearing, but models get first dibs. D1 wanted to buy the dress but the woman persisted and approached the organizer to intervene. D1 would not relent and the organizer permitted D1 to buy the dress. The woman in question: Lyla Garrity aka Minka Kelly!</p>
<p>Today I was at the BNP Pariba Open (tennis tournament) and we were watching a new up and coming American player Ryan Harrison and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out why he looked so familiar. Then I realized he looks just like Jason Ritter. Google him and see if you agree. Oh, and I loved the Minka Kelly story!!</p>
<p>YouDon’tSay - but I’m sure you’re not from Boston trying to fake a Texas accent and doing it with only one word. I used to have quite a strong southern accent myself and I still say “ya’ll.” </p>
<p>After I made my anti-Tami post, I looked on YouTube to see if she really sounded like I remembered and, ya’ll, I found this and it’s pretty funny, ya’ll. </p>

<p>I watched The Bachelor once and thought “What’s so great about this guy?”, which is what I think of the doofus brother, but I don’t remember if they looked alike.</p>
<p>I love Crosby aka doofus brother. He is engaged and has been in a relationship with Kristen Bell for a pretty significant time. They are extremely cute together.</p>
<p>I think Crosby is adorable. I find him more attractive that uptight brother.</p>
