Applying to the College Class of 2017 (Starting College in the Fall of 2013)

@ThisWorks I spent mine at 2 internships-which gave me a few interesting essays. If you come from a reputable school, most companies will be willing to take on a free brain/set of hands whatever.
Or better yet, try to get a job. It will probably be easier to work as a guy. And it doesnt have to be all fancy. I mean, American kids do all sorts of jobs, but internationals dont. I think it will give him a great edge if he does.

Has anyone received an invite to cw from nyuad for ED 2??

Hey, can anyone help me out withs ISFAA? In the question where we have to enter how many people depend on the parents’ income, do we include our parents? Please, its urgent.

^of course you have to list all dependant i think including you. Please correct if i am wrong

Yes parents depend on their income. Whose income did you think they depend upon?

UK:Cambridge University-5 ( 1 Roots I9,1 Roots DHA1, 1 LGS JT, 2 KGS [St. John & Trinity] )

Hey,

Does any one know about the guy who was accepted in Case Western? How much scholarship and aid did he or she receive? What were his or her stats?

Thanks

I am an FSc student and I graduated in 2011 from high school. What I find weird in this list is that 2 students from my school were accepted, me and another, to Furman with me getting $20,000 aid (i turned it down as i would still have to pay too much) and one got into cornell ($10,000 aid) and another into UCLA (full aid) and I also got waitlisted at Bates. All FSc students. No one mentions them. So for those FSc students who think they can’t do it, I am pretty sure if they stay determined, it all will work out. Just Give the SAT’s as they matter a lot if you want aid. I wanted aid and didn’t give the SAT’s so i suffered. (though none of us went to the states, we all chose to stay back here)

Anyways. Congrats to that girl from roots who got into Union, she beat me at it as I had applied ED1 to Union too but got rejected :D

I’m giving up on it though. Parents forcing me to go to med school here. So good luck to all you guys who have applied to all the universities and those going through this thread in search of hope. That was me a few months ago.

Just know that we Pakistani’s usually require aid, and almost all schools except a few top ones, are need aware for international students. So make your applications stand out and put your heart into every supplement. AND GIVE THE SAT’s  I can’t stress enough on their importance.

You might choose to apply to SAT optional colleges, but they also receive applications from students who give the SAT’s. Just be sure of what you do.

Good luck everyone!

a girl from LGS Defence got into Yale and Oxford.

The LGS JT Cambridge acceptance got the 100% scholarship too.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the one student who had gotten into Yale in early action…wasn’t she a student of Nixor? not Kgs as indicated on the list. Check page 23 of this thread for confirmation

I have a question…did your guidance counselors submit your O & A’level results only or midterms/mocks as well? The thing is, universities generally want the final transcripts from 9th grade onwards and the mid year transcript of our final year. So for us, the final transcript would be our official Cambridge results right?

Haha, oops. Yes you’re right, that would be my bad.

@thepakiboy,
the only way for your name or ur friends names to be included in the list is if they report it here on CC or if someone reports it for them. Otherwise, how can CC it self know which Pakistani students have been accepted to which ever universities in the world.
But i’ll agree, the Fsc students really are a bit underestimated when it comes to getting accepted to some foreign uni :)

So I just came on this thread to see where else Pakistanis got accepted in the ED/EA round. I myself have accepted at Brown University ED :D

Is Valparaiso university, USA worth attending? I mean is it worth investing money into Valparaiso education? I need some advice.

A guy from Roots got Cambridge 800th full Scholarship  add it on the list

@SAT456 I think its quite good if you are looking for International exposure and some Liberal Education. Make sure you check specific course in which you want to enroll and see whether it is also good or not.

Congrats collegeconsciou for getting into Brown! No matter what anyone says about Brown, an Ivy is an Ivy ;)

God, im so envious of everyone who’s already gotten into some university :p

Congratulations collegeconsciou. I have a Pakistani friend whose daughter graduated from Brown. She absolutely loved it.
