Everyone over here has applied to all the LACS which give substantial aid to internationals and thus competition is really tough. I think I will get all rejections from all the top LACS I have applied to T_T

@ahtesham why are you so worried you have got a very solid backup HKU with full scholarship

@alisiddique yes of course but still who know what happens… it is always better to have a safety

Kenyon decision are coming in the mail! Did anyone get in?

What! are you sure? Gosh, I live halfway around the world. Maybe those are early writes? lol

And yes, PakiRootsian, I totally agree with your argument about this whole process being a crapshoot for intls. Luck plays such a huge role haha. But it is good to know which schools have a proclivity to take in UWC students - these are the schools intls should avoid. I am firm on my stance that UWC students receive a bump in the process only because of their schools, and to quote my friend at a UWC, “colleges like Macalester and Skidmore are for people who are bad at English here”. Lol. UNFAIRRRR.

On Kenyon: “Admission decisions for students studying in the U.S. will be sent via first class mail, while those for students studying outside the U.S. will be sent electronically.”

@ahtesham- What were his or her stats?

He has a YALE and Stanford summer school and don’t know his grades

Has anyone here applied to Hanover or DePauw?

@PakiRootsian early acceptance letters from Kenyon are you sure; how do you know??

Yes, Akrish, I’m certain. Someone I know got a package. Also, refer to this: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/kenyon-college/1468484-kenyon-class-2017-a.html

These are Regular D, of course.

I always believed that the reason behind picking so many from UWCs was that you have to be very good to make it to a UWC in the first place; hence you will obviously also stand out in the college application pool. In my experience ordinary people don’t make the cut for UWCs so I always thought that universities would also know that there was a reason behind them having gotten to that stage. Obviously sustained academic achievement is a given for anything in life, and this would be no exception, but generally speaking that’s what I felt.

Yep, but I know a couple of UWCers who did not perform very well in their UWCs – and still got picked over very qualified applicants who did not even apply to UWC in their times. A high school should not be given that much weight.

@PakiRootsian the girl who got the acceptance is although a US citizen but living outside US so that maybe the reason. Her letter was dated 1st March.

Eh I doubt that was the reason. Let’s not make excuses. I’m prepared for the bad news. lol

@Vivaciousakrish I think your right we are rejected but I think we would have to wait till April to hear that

No, I called Kenyon. They said all intls will be informed within this week. I hope they just send an email. Getting a rejection letter mailed too is just annoying.

wohh thanks for the update @vivaciousakrish Brace yourself guys Kenyon decisions are on their way.

Or your fat acceptance packages could be at the local Post Office and just waiting to be processed. That’s why there should be electronic notification as well, but fret not Good luck!

OMG OMG Kenyon!!! Why you no come after March lolz… i am nervous and prepared for the rejection
