Applying to the College Class of 2017 (Starting College in the Fall of 2013)

So where has everyone had interviews from?

I’ve had Princeton, Brown, Cornell, Columbia, Middlebury and NYU Shanghai.

Didn’t get one from Yale or Penn, so I don’t know what that means for my chances.

Son applied to three ivies (Penn, Dartmouth, Harvard), interviewed with all three. However, he is in the USA so very different situation.

Princeton2017, mind sharing the details of your Middlebury interview? I don’t mean whether you thought the interviewer was a vegetarian or not, just if it was in-person or over Skype, requested by the college or by you, ED or Regular Decision, when and what city you live in if it was in-person. :p

I’ve had Cornell and Yale interviews but that’s because I applied to very little places with active alumni in Pakistan and/or Islamabad

My first rejection from Kenyon College… like a boss. Lolz

Sent from my Novo7Flame using CC

@Princeton2017,

I didn’t an interview from Middlebury College? Was your interview conducted over Skype?

I wasn’t short-listed for the candidate weekend and interview for NYUAD and Yale-NUS respectively, so I am not keeping my hopes high for US colleges.

I was interviewed by alumni from three schools: Princeton (light, 15 minute conversation), Yale (I wasn’t satisfied with the interview; could’ve been much better) and UPenn (partly satisfied, but the interviewer said he’ll write a good recommendation).

Did you get interviewed over the phone for Princeton?

Rejected from Kenyon :’(

@Princeton2017
I said to the Yale interviewer that I’d probably goto Princeton if I got in all of the colleges.
Oooops. He kept asking me why would I choose Princeton over Yale. Then I started praising Yale.

So…dont worry. My interview was a disaster!

Accepted by Hofstra University with $22000 Scholarship :D

@alisiddiqui94 Congrats man!

@Asad876 Yes

@ahtesham thanks man

@Ahtesham Thanks
@PakiRootsian I want your opinion about Roots I-9’s academics.

My Middlebury was taken over Skype. I didn’t request it; it was assigned to me for RD.

Are Yale interviews discriminatory? I mean, are they assigned according to the amount of consideration being given to an application?

@junaid123, my princeton interview was over the phone and was pretty conversational, too. It was for Early Action.

@Princeton2017,

What’s Middlebury’s policy as far as interviews are concerned? Do they offer interviews to only ‘short-listed’ applicants?

Congrats alisiddiqui94! :smiley:

I had an interview with Princeton (really short 20 mins conversation, could have been better. The interviewer asked me just 2 questions :/)
Yale (40-45 minutes. Interesting engaging conversation)
UPenn (60 mins. Very interesting and enjoyable conversation)
MIT (15-20 mins. Light chit chat. Could have been better)
Yale NUS (skype interview of course :stuck_out_tongue: 45 mins engaging conversation thiugh I was very sleepy :P)
NYUAD (light and engaging conversations wth faculty and admissions reps during Candidate Weekend)
I hear all candidates get interviews with MIT and Princeton.
And people who got interviewed by Brown and Cornell, did you guys give your SAT’s before jan? Does the date of your SAT effect the final decision in any way? I didn’t get an interview call from either one so I was pretty disappointed. :(

@duresham3,

What are your stats?
