Auburn Early Action Class of 2030 Official Thread

What were your son’s stats if you don’t mind me asking? Just trying to get a better idea so if I’m deferred I don’t lose hope! So glad he got in.

This was back when he applied in fall 2022 and he had a 1260 SAT superscore (590 verbal and 670 math) and a 3.7 GPA (unweighted and weighted were the same when he applied since he didn’t have any APs and dual enrollment until his senior year of high school). He applied pre-business.

Out of state as well…

I’m hoping in state and out of state is the difference maker here but we have identical stats nearly lol.

So if we do hear today, what time do you think would that be?

I never would have said this when my older son was admitted to Auburn but now that he is a junior there and I know more, living off campus is sometimes a better option than dorms and can sometimes also be closer to campus.

My S24 got in with a 30 ACT and a 3.9. A classmate had a 4.2 but a 27 and did not get in. I am sure it is because of the ACT score- which is why I am worried about his sister’s 29 :grimacing:

But is this OOS?

Yes. Honestly I think you will be OK being in state. That chart you posted was what I was looking for to post and couldn’t find. My D26 falls a hair below the Admit with her 29 so like you, I am trying to keep that in mind. I guess we will see (hopefully at 6 pm tonight).

Also, if anyone here also applied to UTK EA, there is a debate on their EA thread about an email that was send with different wording, depending on who received it. We are all trying to figure it out :joy:

Also those are averages for admitted not attending correct? So that number is going to be inflated by high achievers using Auburn as a safety school.

I would feel comfortable with a 29 ACT. My OOS son is probably more on the bubble with a 1320 SAT which is the high end of a 28 ACT.

But looking Back last year 1300/28 seemed to all get in. Of course that is just based on people I know, Naviance for his school, Xello for his prior school and this board. Of course things could get bumped up this year. But that would be 1330/29.

but last year 29 ACT was eligible for Charter Scholarship. Now that will more than likely get bumped up this year. Hard to imagine though in one year that score gets a scholarship and the next year it doesn’t even get you in.

I totally agree. I saw many posts on the Auburn Parent Facebook page in late spring/summer looking for people to take over leases they had signed in Sep/Oct in a panic thinking their kid would not get housing and now they had two leases to deal with. My sophomore son has made zero plans for next year and I need to keep telling myself he will find something so I do not panic :joy:

Do we think a 27 gets in, in state?

I would say the same thing as above. Last year 28 ACT and 3.5 goa for in state was eligible for a spirit of Auburn scholarship. If your gpa is above 3.5 I would say you have a good chance and if not deferred. But these are all guesses based on the recent past.

So on the Auburn website there is a page called FactBook - New Students.

Avg ACT score the last three freshman classes was 27.1, 27.4, 28.2. So average freshman act over three years only went up one ACT point.

they do not break that down by in state and OOS. So I think that bodes well for 27 ACT in state depending on GPA.

My daughter ( with the differently worded email) also has 29 ACT (and OOS). Worrying about everything at this point..

I just chimed in on the TN post, but I definitely don’t think you have anything to worry about! Hard not to overanalyze everything though so totally get that.

Has anyone received confirmation or asked if today is the day? Really regretting not asking…
