Auburn University Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

When do RD decisions come out?

She actually wants to go potluck - do you think that could help? If she’s willing to take a single spot somewhere?

does anyone know where the application is for the Residential Learning Communities. I’ve paid the deposit and I’ve spent an hour on their maze of a website trying to find the application - the deadline is supposedly tomorrow to apply for an RLC.

We had an amazing visit. Everyone could not have been nicer. The students we met with were lovely. The facilities are great. My only concern is that the deadline to apply for a LLC is today. To do that, you have to deposit (commit). We have not received any FAFSA/aid information. So, we are being somewhat forced to commit without all the financials. That makes me nervous. Most schools are pushing back all their deadlines (housing registration, commitment, etc) to make an allowance for the FAFSA disaster, but Auburn has not (to my knowledge). Regular housing registration opens up the last week of March (someone, please correct me if I am wrong), but FAFSA is not expected to send information to schools until the middle to end of March. So, the problem of committing to something without having full information is compounded.

Yep. We had the same problem yesterday. The portal needs to update with their acceptance to trigger the application. Updates are processed overnight. So perhaps it is visible now. Can you let me know if you find it?

I just emailed the school. Awaiting a response.

no still not working. when i click on ā€˜apply for RLC’ it just goes to the main RLC page with information. Then it says this:

Application will be available in AU Access > My Academics> Student Menu > First Year Seminar and Learning Community Application

But when we go to AU Access there isn’t even a ā€œMy Academicsā€ link to click on

Same here. I just emailed them. I will let you know if they respond. If they don’t I guess we will need to call this afternoon.

If you go into the housing preferences/rankings page you can add it to the top of the list. They may have changed the process but not the instructions posted on the website.

@SoCal92780 You need to call the office (number at the bottom of the webpage where the instructions are listed). We called, and apparently, the deposit did not fully process and trigger the application. They took our name and ID number and said they would email us. The were aware of the problem which suggests others have called them.

Are they admitting some deferrals or doing it all at once? The deferral email said ā€œby early Marchā€ā€¦

My OOD is waiting also.

i did call and they said they would get it processed but they didn’t. And now their offices are all closed.

I’m hoping we hear about deferral/regular decisions on March 1st but am prepared it maybe March 8th. In the past they have sent them out first Friday of March.

My daughter is accepted and we have paid housing. However, a close friend and potential roommate is deferred. Am I understanding this correctly that if this friend is accepted, she can NOT live on campus? Even with someone who signed up for rooming in November? I thought I read that recently those who tried to register for on campus living were placed on a waiting list?

It’s my understanding if a student is accepted in March they would need to pay the housing deposit and then the student with the earlier housing time can add them as a roommate.

What is student was deferred in Early Action and still waiting. Out of State student. Does this mean no chance for on-campus housing if accepted in March?

They could pay the housing deposit and be put on a waiting list. There are def people who commit, select a dorm/room and then pull out during the summer. But I would have a back up plan for sure in case you do not get off the waiting list.

Zero chance. DS24 had 3 friends put down hosing deposit 3 weeks ago. All 3 will be in off campus housing.

Even if a friend with earlier housing pulls them into their room? Or is the waiting list making that impossible too? Just curious as my daughter has early housing and is looking for a roommate still.
