Son just checked portal. GPA is populated now. Same as HS Transcript (which I think is the same as recalculated would be)!
My sonâs GPA showed up late yesterdayâACT is a 35.
His school is officially on a 100-point scale, but they include a GPA converted to 4.0. Auburnâs conversion is .01 under his schoolâs converted score.
Of the 24 credits he took in grades 9-11, 21 were either core or AP/IB (or both).
The AP/IB courses that he took outside of the standard core were:
- AP Computer Science Principles (our district classifies this as CTAEâtechnology)
- AP Computer Science A
- IB Theory of Knowledge
- IB Business Management
The only way I could get to Auburnâs number was if they included his 2 AP Computer Science courses, but excluded IB Theory of Knowledge and IB Business Management courses.
SoâŠit looks like they are considering APCSx math, but excluding other non-core rigor classes. No weight for honors.
Daughters GPA is visible, SAT 1370.
Based on this small CC sample set, applicant scores are significantly higher than the average of admits last year!
GPA now shows in portal. Matches high school transcript weighted GPA including AP and honors classes.
I wouldnât read anything into this small sample with regard to ACT scores.
Ours shows too but I canât match it if I add 1 point for AP and .5 for Honors. Strange
Are you using a 1 or .5 adder for APs to match what they have?
Perhaps they are giving the .5 bump for honors classes only if the studentâs school does not offer AP/IB classes? In other words, not penalizing students who didnât have access to AP/IB who took the most rigor that they possibly could have.
Portal has updated and Auburn GPA of 4.35 is now showing. Relatively close to transcript GPA of 4.34
1 for AP/IB, none for honors
Try taking out the 0.5 point for honors and keeping the 1.0 for AP.
Had S25 check his portal, and still no GPA showing. I wonder if theyâre calculated alphabetically or just random.
The only way I come close is if I add only 0.5 weight for core AP coursesâŠHer weighted GPA using the UGA methodology is 4.39, Auburn is showing 4.24. Not that far off but would be good to know how they calculated. Another possible reason would be if they converted the 100 to 4 scale using 3.5 for anything between 90 and 94 but this doesnât sound like the case given earlier comments.
Does your school already add points (within the 100 point scale) for AP classes. Example: student actually earns an 88 in the AP class but school adds 5 points for weight and the transcript reads a 93 in the class?
It does but the transcript shows both weighted and unweighted on a 100-point scale
Did yâall get the âwe are excited to see you for War Eagle Day email at 5pm? It seems really mean to send that 2 days before decisions and then reject someone, so I hope itâs not just a mass marketing email.
I was assuming it was a mass email. We received it as well.
Yes.
We did not receive the War Eagle Day email but do show a gpa in the portal
