Nope! Checking hourly. Would have thought if its just an FYI email that we would have it by now. But I guess not

Is anyone else thinking that the email going out later today could be the actual decisions? Or just my crazy self, lol.

December 14th 6pm per my kid, said it was on portal.

Just got the email!

Ugh was hoping it was so much sooner.

Yes!!! Son’s friend got the same email!!! Good luck all!!!

My daughter got an email too!! WOOSah!!

This just in:

We hope you are doing well and enjoying the holiday season!

We know you may have some questions about what to expect when we release our Early Action decisions. We encourage you to review the information below and our Early Action FAQ website for more details.

We will release decisions at 6 p.m. on December 14 via the Clemson admissions portal. Decisions will include admit, defer and deny.

If you are admitted

  • Congratulations! You should feel proud of this achievement as we had a very competitive Early Action applicant pool.
  • You still have until May 1 to make your enrollment decision.
  • Due to the FAFSA Simplification Act, financial aid packages will be released in late March/early April 2024.
  • Visit your Clemson admissions portal to start your enrollment next steps, register for admitted student events, and learn more about your major!

If you are deferred

  • The most important thing to remember is that this is not a final decision. It is a delay until we can review your application in the context of the entire applicant pool.
  • Your application will receive full consideration for both admission and scholarships with the Regular Decision group, with decisions being released in mid-February.
  • Please check your email and portal for important information and next steps.

We look forward to continuing to work with you throughout the admission process.

Go Tigers!

Yep!!! My daughter is cheering at 6pm that night. So we will have to wait until we get home. AHHHH going to be a long night but Im glad its Thursday and not Friday!

I think it is a straightforward e-mail. Good on Clemson for a clear communique. Good luck everyone! Remember, your child will attend school where they are meant to be!

Does anyone know if at this early stage of the process, for these large public universities, does admissions look at the type of courses taken by the applicant - like Honors, AP, etc. - or do they simply review GPA and SAT at this point in their selection. Thank you!

They mention financial aid packages being released in late March/Early April which is in line with last year. I do wish they would release merit aid scholarships before this date like most other schools. Frustrating to wait around on other offers when the oos cost might not be feasible for families without merit. They keep you dangling by a thread with a promise of merit and are very vague about said amount until almost April. Last year’s oos merit was pretty small so I bet this year won’t be much different but you never know. It would be good to have this information so you could move on. Have to get in first. LOL And who knows, maybe they’ll surprise us and announce merit scholarship awards with admission offers. A girl can dream.

My guess is that they wait on offering scholarships based on which students accept/decline their admissions. Schools generally have a budget of how much money they are willing to give for a particular year. If a lot of high stats kids decline admission then they may offer that cash :moneybag: to other students that wouldn’t qualify initially. Also, out of state to in state ratio may play a role as well since there is a huge gap in cost.

All very good points. Guess we’ll just have to hunker down and wait. The merit amount or lack thereof will be the deciding factor on whether or not we can make it happen for our child. If my D doesn’t get in, it will be a moot point. Clemson is high on the list. It really is a special place. Good luck to your child!

Clemson historically is very tight on merit aid. Last year seemed to average in state $500-1500 per year and OOS $5000-6500 per year with some outliers of course. Very high SAT or top of class ranking seemed to be the driver for merit.

The school just doesn’t give out much but maybe this year will be different.

My daughter is a junior, she receives $10,000 a year, I think $12,000 was the highest back in 2021 (3.9+ UWGPA, 1 B, 33 act) but Clemson accepted all of her AP classes plus she was given additional merit this year (she’s in honors with a 4.0, definitely not expected). It was a last minute application, she applied to 20 schools looking for merit but visited the last week in April of her senior year and fell in love (her 4 siblings all attended different colleges, flew down for the ND game this year, and vowed to go back again, so much fun).

Last year an SAT 1410 got $6000 OOS

Last year also a 1490 SAT/ more rigorous schedule and ranked top ten in class got about $8,500 OOS

Hello! Curious from those with experienced knowledge , no SAT submittal as it did not match her stats , top 7% of class , 101 GPA, all AP and Honors , nothing lower than an A- on the transcript all through HS thus far, loads of clubs, extracurricular and leadership . Thoughts on OOS student getting accepted vs deferred ?
Thank you in advance !

well, many OOS cannot accept without knowing about merit first. We certainly can’t
