someone said theres usually 2-3 waves and that their son got accepted in the second wave, where theres typically more acceptances than the first wave

I received the follow-up email from CAS on Friday. Is this typically indicative of a coming acceptance? How many emails usually go out, and is there a usual turn-around time for acceptance after?

I havenā€™t gotten any yet, but I read somewhere that CALS usually accepts people later than the other colleges

I know everyone is nervous and anxious about getting off the waitlist so posts get misunderstood. I had said that last year my son got in off the CAS waitlist in the 2nd wave. There were no other CAS waves after that in 2023. Every year is different. There can be just 1 wave, or a few. Every year is different and there is no absolute. No one can say how many there will be or how many students are in the wave of emails sent. We canā€™t even say that you will absolutely get in if you got the Friday CAS email. All that is known is that most, if not all, have been accepted in the past. That is not a perfect predictor of what will happen in any following year.

Not many emails go out. Last year the turn around from a Friday CAS email was a Tuesday 9am reply. Good luck!

Just a few details for those interested: OOS, CAS, received the follow-up waitlist email on Friday (5/3) at 12:00 pm EST, received the official acceptance at 8:00 am EST today (5/6).
