Hi! I applied to COE and received 2 emails (I believe everyone got them) about how Cornell will email us asking for another paragraph if they admitting from the COE waitlist. I forgot where, but I recall seeing that the prompt email should have come out on May 2nd? Did anyone get anything or has heard anyone come off the waitlist for COE?

Another COE applicant here. Same with me, I received an email asking for another paragraph (on my chosen major, I suppose) if they admitting from the COE waitlist, but nothing since. Maybe they are yet to go to the COE waitlist due to the FAFSA mess.

i just talked to my guidance counselor who spoke with cornell admissions and she said that cornell told her the sent emails last week and people would know by may 8th if they were in or not but i don’t know if this is just for the first wave :woman_shrugging:t2:

My acceptance email said that once you get you Cornell ID set up, you can apply for housing and dining.

Seems impossible to know. It seems like in years past people have gotten off any time ranging from May 2nd even up into July and possibly August. I would also assume that different colleges at Cornell have different admission timelines. COE, for example, seems to usually admit later than CAS.

After you accept you will be able to apply for housing. If you find someone to room with, you can request them. All freshman will hear about housing over the summer (I think July). You can’t request a dorm but you can request what type of room (single, double, ect) but no guarantee. Housing assignments are random, not by time of acceptance. Dining is mandatory “unlimited” meal plan.
