Hi, quick question about the “updated grades part”. Is that just a mid-year report? I was thinking not since as an RD applicant I already sent that, but my school finalizes 3rd marking period grades in a week or so, so is it still worth it to send it to them?
also, how bad is it if I sent my loci in yesterday. I just put it off cuz i heard from some friends that they dont rlly look at it much at all and that as long as you have one submitted its prob the same. besides that, the acceptance rate is extremely low so i wasn’t optimistic even if i submitted one earlier.
I think it’s just your most recent grade report! I don’t think they will start reviewing waitlist applicants until they have spots open up, so it’s definitely not too late!
Yeah, don’t worry about sending the LOCI yesterday. Spoke to an AO and they told me that it should really just be submitted anytime before the April 30th. As for your grade report, my school hasn’t published 3rd Quarter Grades yet so I am still waiting on them as well, however, I most probably won’t be sending them anyways. Do you by any chance know if they’ll be pissed off or a little confused if I didn’t send in my grades from the third marking period? They are really just passing grades (one B+, 2 A-'s, and 2 A’s). I mean atp, I don’t think I’ll be able to unless my school ends up finalizing them for all students ASAP.
I mean since it’s optional, I feel like they would assume you are performing similarly to your initial application grades.
If you are on the waitlist, it means the school knows that you can do the work. Sending in or not sending in a 3rd quarter grade report will not impact a waitlist admittance.
This is about a spot opening up and an AO saying, “To complete this class, we need a student from x place with y experience and z attribute. It looks like Sally Creamcheese fits that need. Let’s go make her an offer.”
Ohh okay. Thank you for the clarification
For final transcript, it has to be sent out from school not from applicant, right?
Yea it has to an official report
Btw, does anyone know the policy for if you decide on not taking an AP exam for an AP class that you are enrolled in during senior year? Would I need to inform that office letting them know that I am not taking the exam or would I not need to tell them.
Does anyone know if CAS admits by intended majors? Also it seems like in the past year they have already sent out emails to students confirming their interest in the waitlist, so has anyone heard back yet?
no and no
What do you mean…People who are accepted have a lower yield?
yes, everyone around me who were accepted are picking other schools
can you be a bit more specific about the emails? what do they say/ do they indicate the student has a high chance of getting off the waitlist?
it did not indicate a higher chance. I scrolled through last years thread and a ton of ppl who got the email didn’t get picked up
As far as I know, the email is sent out to confirm if certain students are still interested in remaining on the waitlist. Not sure if it indicates higher chance of getting in though.
wait did the email come out recently or yet? Or would it be coming out later in the month?
No one received the email so far, they change up things each year
thanks. tbh ive heard some conflicting stuff cuz someone in one of the earlier threads said theres an email asking something that was pretty much equivalent to a likely letter. ill have to go back and check i might be a bit off
I’d like to know about this as well
