For CALS:

Just received this email…

Earlier this spring, you asked us to keep your name on Cornell University’s Waitlist in case we were able to make any more offers of admission for the Fall 2024 semester. We now have a clear picture of the number of students who will be enrolling in the fall and, unfortunately, we will not have a place in the class to offer you.

We appreciate your interest in Cornell and your patience while you were on the waitlist, and we are confident that you will thrive wherever you enroll.

If, after a successful year or more elsewhere, you continue to believe that Cornell may be the right school for you, we hope you will consider applying as a transfer student. You can find information for transfer applicants on the Undergraduate Admissions website.

In the meantime, my very best wishes for every success as you continue your education.

Is this a TO or not?

Doesn’t seem like it, I got the same email (CAS applicant)

here’s my email:

Earlier this spring, you asked us to keep your name on Cornell University’s Waitlist in case we were able to make any more offers of admission for the Fall 2024 semester. We now have a clear picture of the number of students who will be enrolling. While we are sorry to inform you that we cannot offer you admission for the fall of 2024, the College of Arts and Sciences has decided to extend you a Transfer Option to join Cornell after study at another institution.

You will receive more information from the College of Arts and Sciences. If you have questions, please contact the college directly.

In the meantime, my best wishes for every success as you continue your education.

Yep I got the same email, got a TO, but I don’t think its a guaranteed offer. So in the end does it really mean anything?

look like a rejection.

i won’t be attending, but i’ve read online that it’s an ā€œunofficial guaranteeā€ as long as u meet all the requirements. i’m not sure how true this is, but that seems to be the general consensus (at least on reddit).

For cals is it possible to get TO after the rejection letter (copium)

Byebye thread - it’s been a long run. Good luck to all of you, I’m sure y’all will do great

So is it there on the earth any intl admits of cas…? So far from what I saw on this thread seems like the entire stuff is like a fraud for intls lol

Really? I hope so … I was admitted to NYU Stern so I hope I can do well and get above a 3.5. If someone can confirm this unofficial guarantee that would be great.

I wish I could send links here. I read the TO section on their website and they say you’d be ā€œa highly competitive transfer applicantā€ - speaking in parables I want a straight answer.

with AP credits, I’m assuming all the requirements for my TO are gonna be fulfilled (excluding the extra essay that I have to write)

Good luck to everyone. You’re all amazing young people who will do great things wherever you are.

Yea, I checked and it’s done for now
No TO for COE
At least we have the weekend to go from denial to the last stage of acceptance … something I would not have experience this early in my life

No dice here for this HH waiting on the COE. Got the rejection today. Thanks to all who made this an informative thread. A lot more shared here than virtually all of the other waitlist communities out there for equivalent schools. Now on to Case Western.
