Is new thread volume down significantly since the “upgrade” rolled out?
Seems like it to me, but wondering if anyone with actual data would care to comment.

Like @jym626 I still have the Home Depot ad. While it had an X to close it, I am not always able to close the ad. I have an iPhone 6s and have had CC as an icon for years. I assume it opens in Safari, but I truly don’t know.
@CCadmin_Sorin , the College Life Forum is very difficult to find. This is a problem becasue it’s the ONLY place on CC where students who are struggling can get some advice. It’s part of the College Admissions and Search forum, but how would anyone know that? There is only one way to get there. You have to click on the left side under Discussion Topics, then when those come up, it’s way down the list, which includes topics that already have their own Top Forums categories on the right side of the home page, such as Search and Selection. It’s confusing because it seems like there are two different forums for the same topic.
Surely just having a straightforward listing, such as Highlights now offers, would be a simple solution.
The font still causes huge eye strain. It needs to a a little wider, or bolder, or black. It can’t be read on a phone and I never use CC on my phone anymore for that reason.
I have a couple of nagging issues.
- This site hops around so much and for so long that I click on something...and an ad appears or I’m taken to Facebook. Please fix the hopping around. This happens only on this site for me.
- This morning, I woke up at 7:50 or so. I went to check a thread I’ve been following and noticed there was a post done before I work up. Actually, when I got to the thread, there were several I hadn’t read...because they were posted when I was sleeping. The thread was not marked with “new” for new posts. It was boldface which would indicate I had read all the posts. I hadn’t. WTH?
I’m having the same issues as @thumper1. The jumping around is especially bad on my cell phone.
I’m also not seeing “new” posts marked properly.

@vonlost, you cannot get to College Majors from Highlights. Not all forums are listed under Highlights (just the top forums). You need to click on the College Admissions & Search block under Discussion Topics.
The jumping around also happens on my phone. If I try to type, the screen jumps and I cant see what I typed.
Is there any update on “latest posts” being moved to the top. Where it is currently in is not easably accessible.
I think I figured out what the problem is with “most recent” posts by UCLA and UCB when clicking the letter “C.” It happens when searching for any “top colleges” alphabetically. For instance, if you look “S” and then scroll down to Stanford, it states the most recent post is April 13 (same date as the “most recent” for UCLA). If you click on the header for “top colleges” it will list all of the top colleges and have have an accurate “most recent” date. Hope that makes sense.
Here’s a new one. On my iPhone, I am not receiving PM inbox numbers. I click on the little line thingy, and the inbox spot appears. I have clicked on it several times today…and there were new PMs to me. No indication that this was the case. Usually there is a little red number next to the inbox thing giving me the number of new messages.
I had the opposite. Had notifications that I had a PM but it wasn’t there when I clicked on it.
My inbox keeps telling me I have a message with the number 1… But there’s no message… @jym626… Yes that. Just read your post. Exactly

Sorry this is pretty much completely off topic, but I just got back on this site after summer off and I find it impossible to read now after the redesign. Most of the threads on my front page are old to very old, and there are very few new discussions/posts I can find. Compared to last year, there seems to be much less activity or else I am just not seeing it. Any tricks to make the page more user friendly? Is there a way to sort to see only the new threads and responses? I assume most of the threads on the front page are pinned there but where is the new stuff?
