Schools
I just want to know if I have a decent shot at Harvard Yale Princeton Stanford MIT i know they’re probably not the best for engineering but it’s my very shallow dream

  • Assured (100% chance of admission and affordability):
  • Extremely Likely: 80%
  • Likely:60%
  • Toss-up:40%
  • Lower Probability:20%

These colleges are all reach schools even for the very top students. As an international student, they are even higher reaches.

Have you applied to all of these universities already?

Do you have some affordable sure things for admission in your home country or elsewhere?

You have done some great things, but again…these colleges are reaches for everyone. No way to realistically predict your admission outcomes.

I have one affordable option I know they’re all reaches i just want to know my standing if i have a decent shot and if possible an approximation of my chances

Impossible to give. You might get accepted and you might not.

would you say it’s likely to get into 1

am I at least a good candidate

Once more. It’s impossible to predict acceptances to colleges with LOW single digit acceptance rates.

am i at least a good applicant ?

@MYOS1634 @Mwfan1921 your thoughts?

You are a certainly a worthy candidate. The problem is that they will be many more worthy applicants than spots available. Acceptance rates for the schools you mentioned are in the range of 5% – likely half of that for international students. I wish you luck, but as @thumper1 stated above, nobody can reasonably chance you.

in the intl applicant pool am i a strong very strong or unique candidate I’m confident in my essays so if i stand as a STRONG applicant I think my essays can do the rest of the work

I understand you are anxious but please stop. Nobody here has seen the applicant pool to say anymore more. Glad you have an affordable acceptance in hand.

i forgot to add I’m currently working on a research paper about Redstone engineering and maybe if i get selected publish it on jei

what do you mean English isn’t my first language so some expressions go beyond my expertise

That means this:

When will you be starting college. This sentence makes it sound like you haven’t written college essays…yet. Have you already applied to these colleges, or are you planning to do so for fall 2026 enrollment.

Please answer these questions.

I have started working on my essays and I’m planning to apply fall 2026

thanks

While you are researching colleges in the U.S. please take the time to find some that are less selective in terms of admission…if your end goal is to study here.

Also, where do you plan to work after completing your bachelors degree. It is highly likely you will be required to return to your home country.

Would you like some suggestions of other colleges that might be less selective, but possibly affordable?

yes please let them be less than 20k i would also like it if they had high employment rates after graduation
