Oddly placed cursor?

Thanks, @thumper1! Can you please confirm your iPad type and the iOS version? The info is needed to reproduce the issues (as it does not impact everyone). I am using Safari on my iPhone, too, but am not having the issue.

iOS 26.5, 8th Generation IPad.

Mostly on safari on iPad but it occasionally happens on my phone as well.

@CC_Sorin new today…and I couldn’t do anything to change this.

Discourse responded that it’s an iOS bug and that Apple needs to fix it. I was getting some of this funkiness myself. I reported the new instances and pushed back on their resolution. Am now waiting for an answer.

Thank you for pushing back. I’m pretty tenacious…but this is getting worse instead of better.

It’s happening again on my iPhone 13 which is updated.

It happens on my iPhone17 and iPad

It happened on my iPhone 16 today

Yes…this continues to happen to me almost all the time. To make it go away, I hit discard, then cancel. When the dialog box is there then, the cursor is in the right place. I think that’s the order.

Crazy to have to do this but at least it works.

iPad using safari.

Ok, I’m having to use this every time this morning. Here is the sequence.

  1. Hit discard below the dialog box.
  2. When the options come up, hit cancel.

And all should be fine.

See if that works for you to get the cursor in the right place.

Picking up this thread. Not sure why this continues to be an issue but I’ll look into investigating and seeing if we have a solution.

Just adding this is an issue for me again as well, on the iPad and iPhone.

I still have to go through my procedure to make this go away almost every time I post. See above.

It’s doable, but annoying @CC_ajenkins

@CC_ajenkins any progress on fixing this issue?

It seems like this is a broader issue across the platform and not specific to CC so working through that with discourse.

Thank you for the update. Most of us knew it was nothing we were doing!
