when do RD come out?
where are you located? Did the OSU rep say when the deferred students will hear. Our rep said end of March. I hope the EA deferred students get priority over RD applicant pool.
We are in the DC Metro area - our regional OSU rep said the deferred students would hear end of March and that only RD students would hear on the Feb date. It literally makes no sense. Especially if these EA kids were never reviewed to start with.

makes no sense and really not fair to the students who applied EA.

Someone on here (yesterday I think) said their DC emailed the rep and the rep acknowledged that it was an error or oversight.

It seems uncanny that EVERY kid who did not hear by 1/21 got deferred. Not rejected, but deferred. Based on the stats that people gave, they were VERY strong studentsâand had stats that were higher than kids accepted in Dec. I know someone who was deferred in Dec and I believe he has to submit mid-year grades. None of the kids deferred on 1/25 were asked for anything further to help make the decision for admittance.
Iâm not sure this qualifies as wishful thinking. Iâm assuming we will hear on 3/25. And I laugh because I assumed we would hear on 12/10 and 1/21, too.

Weâve come to terms with their failure to review these EA apps by the deadline but to then throw them to the bottom of the pile is inexcusable. There were a number of things they could have done to rectify or at least ameliorate the situation but the path they seem to have chosen is the worst option. My daughter has since been deferred at two other higher ranked universities both of which requested a LOCI and second semester grades. I find it difficult to believe this deferral was a real one for which they will receive actual consideration if they arenât requesting those things. By this point many other acceptances with merit aid have probably come in for most of the students affected by this debacle so if theyâre like my daughter, it moves Ohio State much farther down the list which is disappointing.

Same! No acceptances from any of my daughters EAs (unless you count Penn State 2+2 and UT CAPâŠwhich we are). But so far every RD school she applied to sheâs been accepted to.

Exactly the same for my daughter. This has definitely not gone how she planned and sheâs kinda freaking out.
My son has asked me not to speak of the 2+2 from PSU. The day the packet came in the mail, he put it through the shredder. To add insult to injury, they offered him money for the satellite campus.

For those that have been accepted to the College of Engineering Honors program, how were you notified of the acceptance for the program? My son received an email congratulating him on his recent acceptance to the OSU College of Engineering Honors program and that he had the opportunity to apply for the Integrated Business and Engineering Honors program. But he never received notification that he was accepted into the Engineering Honors Program in the first place.

Did he not receive âHonorsâ notification not long after he was accepted? (I got an email like 3-4 days after acceptance in December)
From what I can tell there really isnât a specific âEngineering Honors Programâ per se; if you were accepted for engineering AND accepted into University Honors, then you are an âengineering honors student.â

We are in Maryland. My sonâs email and response from OSU rep were in between him not hearing on the 1/21 date and the 1/25 deferral date. Once he was deferred on the portal he has not reached out to the rep and has decided to wait until there is a decision. At this point it doesnât appear that they are giving priority to the EA mass deferral group:/ It is disheartening.

My daughter received the same email about 2 hours ago, but had in fact received an email about 2 weeks ago stating that she was not accepted into the honors program. There was another email sent in just the last 30 minutes stating that todayâs congratulatory email was sent in error.
Wow, thatâs quite an error! OSU seems unprepared and a bit sloppy this cycle. Big bummer for the applicants, as theyâre the ones who suffer

DS22 Accepted to Engineering Program, RD! Weâre on the East Coast, poor kiddo has been checking his portal since 5pm. The decision came about 30 min before the email, which was at 7:10pm
