Hello just wondering if anyone has heard anything from admissions for humanities major ??
Any admits for psychology major?
My son did for History on March 4.
Still waiting on decision for 1st year Art major app.
Anyone accepted for Business Admin?
I think my friendâs son was accepted for this last week. Business of some sort.
Yes, my son was admitted for Business Admin - Information Systems.
Anyone accepted for biology yet?
I saw one mentioned in December Wondering same thing
Since itâs the 11th like in 2024 any chance for the releases to come out?
Is it possible the school is done with sending acceptances and we are just now waiting on rejections and waitlist?
Last Tuesday there was a wave of acceptances, so itâs not crazy to think another could come today.
Crickets⊠My student says none of her natural sciences friends have heard (SF Bay Area). UC Davis came out this week and no one got in of her friends who all have a 4.0+ weighted with lots of rigor, one waitlist. They are on the edge of their seats but lots of overlap with Cal Poly SLO, UCSB and other cal schools. It makes me wonder to what degree the UCâs and the Cal States coordinate at a high level on numbers. If people withdrew an app after a UC admission then that would free up some space as they roll down their lists. I wish there was a mechanism for the in-state schools to be notified when kids commit to a different system school. I think thatâs how they do it in France which is an interesting system of preferencing and musical chairs. Probably a topic for a different thread.
They donât coordinate whatsoever.
FWIW my D23 was waitlisted at Davis and got in to UCLA. She was a high stat/rigor/resume student. IMO Davis has become a yield protection school. Iâve read similar about Irvine. Itâs also my belief that the UC admissions offices talk more than theyâll publicly admit. All my speculative opinion of course.
My daughter was accepted for Chemistry in December, I donât know if you can draw anything about biology from that (or draw anything for that matter). Is there thought that they chunk up by major?
From this article on the How the UCâs evaluate student applications:
Myth: Campus admissions departments talk with one another to decide which school will accept a student.
Reality check: The single application makes it easy to apply to multiple UCs, but the different campuses absolutely do not make decisions in consultation with one another.
