My understanding from looking at posts last year and ED results this year is that merit is included in an acceptance letter.
When they say start to go out, do they mean most/all will be Friday or they will be sent in batches over days?
In the past itâs been consecutive Fridays, with acceptances first, then waitlists, then rejections.
This is the exact verbiage used, not sure what their process is : Thank you for contacting me.
Decision notifications will begin to go out 3/22.
My daughterâs merit award was included in her acceptance letter last year.
Does anyone know what date Syracuse will send out its regular admissions? We have heard âend of Marchâ but no specific dates.
Others on here are saying they will start Friday 3/22 based on a call with admissions.
this question has been asked across here, fb, reddit, quora approximately 5,789,004 times.
nobody has a clue and likely admissions is still deciding
Hi, Iâm currently a sophomore at Syracuse. I wouldnât say this is completely true. My decision was released in the last batch, and at that point, I lost hope. I did get in! Unfortunately, there isnât a real reason as to why they do this. My last name is in the middle to end of the alphabet so it isnât based on name. So if you donât end up getting that decision first, donât lose hope.
BLESS YOU FOR THIS ik I wouldve been losing my mindđ
Thank you so much for sharing this intel! I would also be totally losing my mind. The waiting is nuts! Do you recall approximately what month you applied? My DS applied in October so the wait has been something else!
We applied pretty early too. It is hard waiting. I really wish they had EA.
If Syracuse had EA and my D was accepted, she would have applied to fewer RD schools. Probably 4-5 fewer appsâŠand Iâm sure we arenât the only ones. All of which would ease the burden on the system everywhere.
I completely understand the nerves! Just remember to take a deep breath, it will all fall into place. I applied around mid-November for the RD pool, so I can relate to the waiting game. Interestingly, it seems thereâs no particular pattern to which programs are released in each batch. Some of my friends, in various schools like Maxwell, Newhouse, Whitman, and VPA, also received their decisions in the last batch. So, while it may feel unpredictable, hang in there - your decision will come, and hopefully, itâs the one youâve been hoping for. Sending positive vibes your way!
Does anyone know how many students were accepted ED? Or what percentage? Wondering how many spots are left for the RD crew.
Thank you so much for posting. Could you share the date you learned of your acceptance last year? I see that Syracuse releases in batches, wondering if this wait could go into April or if tomorrow and 3/29 likely when all initial results released.
I donât have any information for this year, but here are the numbers from the SU common data set for fall 2023 admissions.
Overall, just under 20,000 students were offered admission from a total of about 46,000 applications. Overall enrollment was just over 4,000.
Of that number, about 2,200 applied ED and 1440 of that pool were offered admission. Assuming that most of the ED offers actually enrolled, they fill close to 1/3 of an incoming class through ED. I think that math is correct.
Anecdotally, during a presentation by folks in the architecture program they mentioned that about 20% of their incoming B.Arch class is filled through ED.
I saw on Syracuseâs Waitlist FAQ page that 2,500 more students applied this year compared to last year, a record setting amount. I guess the acceptance rate will be around 40% this year based on last yearâs CDS numbers. Not sure how ED factors into these stats, but know it doesnât help. Bit of bad timing and bad luck for our soon-to-be-grads as there just seems to be a big uptick in applicants at every school this year. Weâre trying to be positive and optimistic, but realisticâŠfingers crossed!
I am curious what the acceptance rate is for Barch?
According to the SU website, historically Newhouse has spots for 8.5% of people who apply.
