Yes, OOS Neural engineering

Yes OOS industrial engineering

Wow - hard to believe that he was rejected with such an incredible profile. But he’s got fantastic options and will do great wherever he chooses to go. Best of luck!

My son has a link to click to view the decision letter but gets an error message when he clicks it. I was coming to ask if anyone else has the same issue if not being able to access the decision letter.

anyone know how good the materials science program is here?

D25 accepted, OOS CoE, 4.0 UW, 1560 SAT. Took most of the AP classes offered at their school (~ 7), 4 DE math classes beyond Calc B/C, 3-sport varsity athlete and captain of 2, several engineering & tech-related ECs and an internship.

DD applying next year and some of these posts are making me nervous. Each year Grainger (and Geis) seem to get ever more selective. DD has a 4.0, 5.0 weighted, 1530 SAT (will take again). 1520 on PSAT so should move on with National Merit. Varsity athlete. Lots of AP and EC. Still, yikes, it is getting hard to get in to this program.

Her academic is great! Perhaps to focus on strengthening EC related to her intended field of study.

Same issue here!

MSE is excellent at UIUC. My son is planning on studying MSE. He was admitted to UIUC and Georgia Tech last night, likely committing to GT.

In state deferred from Gies, 3.9 uw/4.4 w, 1420 SAT, 32 ACT, 6 APs, 3 years varsity athlete, 1 year captain, NHS, over 100 service hours.

Is there a genuine chance at getting in for RD? In the past it seems like there are usually around 4500 deferrals with 1500-2000 later getting accepted but everyone I know at my school that applied that didn’t get in got deferred as well. I have math as a 2nd choice major as well.

That’s sucks, you had great stats to not be admitted in-state.
If I have to guess, the only thing that’s perhaps keeping you on the fence could be business related ECs like DECA/FCCLA, and/or work experience. Coming across as business oriented and intentional about it in the 2 essays could also be important for Gies.

DS accepted OOS to engineering UIUC, 4UW, 1560 SAT, strong EC and essays, CA private school. Also accepted to engineering at UVA, UMD, Purdue and deferred at UMich and GATech so far

Honestly I think you have a good chance. You are in-state with pretty solid stats. If UIUC has a LOCI, I recommend you try to do some business initiative in the next two weeks, like get an internship or just do some project, and write about it. Then you will get accepted.

Unfortunately they don’t have a LOCI, the only thing I think I can do is add new test scores. Funny enough the website just tells me to enjoy my senior year (if only it was that simple lol.)
