Congratulations!!! Yes. DS heard and got in last night too!
Congrats to those accepted this week!
I’m not sure whether people will remember me, but my S24 was deferred EA. He has a strong record, but is test optional and disclosed dyslexia, so we weren’t sure what would happen.
Thanks to everyone who supported and reassured us on this thread! Especially @lovetractor , @OceanAir , @Massmom10 , @MRRB_SE , @L_NewEngland , @randommom1 , and @Pathnottaken . You were all right, and S24 was accepted yesterday with a Presidential Scholarship .
I especially want to apologize for suggesting that maybe UNH had their doubts about S24 due to his learning disability. S24 did have people advising him not to disclose it, so that made me wonder. However, UNH clearly did not hold it against him in any way. It may just have taken them longer to figure out his transcript because he’s not from NH, MA, CT or Maine. Also, he submitted his app in November, and his APUSH score was late, in case they were looking for some kind of standardized test.
Thanks again to all for your encouraging words. S24 has been his usual even-keeled self, but this process has felt long and stressful for me. Congrats to all your 24s and very best wishes during the remaining decisions!
Great news! Congratulations. UNH is a great place. Process has been frustrating for many students, not just applying to UNH but broad based across the board. Tons of deferrals and outright rejections.
Thank you! S24 is very happy .
Part of the frustration may come from how many different options and timelines there are: ED, EA, rolling admission, RD, scholarships, honors, etc. Variety is a good thing, but it makes the process feel random sometimes and beyond our control. I very much hope that everyone will find a good match in the end and thrive!
woo-hoo! congrats! I am so glad to hear this (and that UNH wasn’t being a jerk;)
Yeaahhhh! So happy to see this wonderful news! I’m so glad it worked out for him, and the scholarship being the cherry on top.
Definitely a stressful rollercoaster of a ride, but now it’s behind you and you can celebrate!
