Our admissions rep just emailed me back from last week saying…
Thank you for your email. Decisions should be out within the week and a half-ish, which would be around that mid-December mark. As soon as they are available, students will receive an email informing them that their decisions are available on their student portal.
Yeah I hope it’s not later than Tuesday. This is my daughter’s clear #1 and I’d rather her get the decision while we’re home, not while traveling for the holidays.
I think most rational people would consider anything past around 12/19 to be late December. Plus pretty sure admin offices close for 2 weeks around 12/20, so def should be before then!
I never understood how the number of applications changes how long it takes them. they’ve known since the middle of October when applications were due? Why not use better time management so you don’t have to keep these kids waiting.
Or hire more readers? This seems to be what many schools do.
Also maybe just tell everyone your more exact target as you get closer to the date when all other colleges are releasing decisions? Does it need to be a secret? And why wouldn’t every college strive to be first? Let prospective students imagine themselves at your school for as long as possible without any competition from other colleges! Siiiigh
I guess they I can respect that they are honest about it? My S will be deferred at best, and he worked his butt off on that essay and ECs, so I am okay with them waiting and taking those into consideration! He is not a high stats kid, but he is freaking awesome. They should be so lucky to have him on campus
Ugh Tuesday. It seems everyone on these boards has applied to some combination of SC Clemson Auburn UGA,l and an few others with a Hail Mary to UNC /UVA and we can’t all go to 4 schools so hopefully we will all end up where we want! Wouldn’t it be nice if we could swap acceptances
Same with my son. He’s not one of those kids that studies and still gets A’s (or A-). I was the same way and I did just fine My guidance counselor told me I wouldn’t get into NYU and did, but that’s when you had to interview and I think that was what did it. My proudest moment was proving her wrong I don’t even think I broke 1100 on my SAT insanely.
