There were some that had it blank at first but tried it a couple days later and their major was there

Seems some people have awaiting decision still while others have nothing next to application status. That’s all i see that’s very different?

Could that suggest that the people with “awaiting decision” still might see a waitlist as their decision? This reminds me of the EA Release period where deferred people saw the SRAR glitch on their portal before decisions came out.

Just did this and my sons confirm email is different. The lead is “ let’s celebrate you” and there is no major listed
Anyone have this or thoughts on the difference?

One is New Vol Day, the other is an Admitted Student Tour. Separate events.

Folks

Been reading all the posts about the email after signing up for the Admitted Students tour. I decided to shoot an email to a friend who works in the IT department for UTK. He said the Admitted Student email checks the backend system for the admission status and department/college and prints it out on the email. UTK knows this is a glitch and did not expect people still waiting for a decision to sign up for an admitted student tour.

What this means is anybody who is still waiting for a decision but signed up for the Admitted Student Tour and had the major and department listed is admitted but decision will only show on status page when released. Anybody who signed up but did not have a major listed is probably still under review or waitlisted. They will be reviewing applications till Feb 18th. That’s when the IT department has been told to refresh the databases. They have still not been told when the admission decisions will be released officially but based on what he is saying anybody who is still waiting for a decision and signed up for the “Admitted Student Tour” and got an email with major listed is admitted. For those who do not have major listed either they are waitlisted or still being reviewed. Those denied cannot sign up for the Admitted Student tour even if decision is not yet released because the system will not allow it.

I tried both my admitted daughter and email had everything and the second daughter who was deferred and we are waiting for decision and her email did not have major listed so she is still probably under review.

If you did the new vol admit day, that one doesn’t list your major but the admitted student tour does.
