I am a proud UTK alumni and would love for my girls to to attend UTK. But this whole f ing admissions process with the people who mange it and the guidance counselors had left such a bad taste about this place. What is wrong with this universe!!! This was supposed to be moments of joy for parents and kids. I can guarantee you regardless of the decision you see you will have no emotions about it after all the shenanigans around this process.
The only bright side of all of this was getting to know each one of you on here

As mentioned before my oos son is deferred (not offered admission as of now) and was in the directory with a net id and an utk email address. It also said he left UT on 2/26/2024. No clue what this means, if anything.
If it makes anyone feel better, my daughter had tried this directory hack with Penn State and she was never in it but was admitted EA to University Park!

@clt_1919 The only thing that comes to mind is the folks got accidentally added to the directory and usually for audit purposes they cannot just delete info they mark the closed records as left UTK
I think that is the day they added him to the directory! So probably accepted now is my theory!

I hope you are right about little to no emotion. They ALL need to do better!! It is disheartening, discouraging and there is no teachable moment here at all. I am sure everyone on admissions team is doing the best they can, but the emotional investment into college acceptances especially this year has been nothing short of stressful and unhealthy. We teach our daughters (twins) to trust the process but this has been very challenging to digest. Sending love and light to all of you on this journey. Trusting they will all land where they belong!!

Persons who are working for the University but who are not on the University payroll (e.g., researchers, contract workers, visiting/adjunct faculty) can get NetID, VPN, and network access by having their department fill out a Sponsor a Person for OIT Services request.
These users will be assigned a NetID, will be entered as a member, and assigned a left UTK date. At the end of the fiscal year (June), if the user still needs access to UT resources, then their department must submit a Sponsor a Person for OIT Services request for the new fiscal year.
Well said twins here too and the stress is double when one gets in EA and other is deferred.

I just got a text from my guidance counselor and she said âJust got an email that 2nd round of decisions will be released at 7pm Eastern.â !!! I tried to attach it but I donât know how too

fortunately only one applying. The other in same situation in another school. But they are absorbing each others joys and disappointments as twins/sisters can do.

Was your daughter who was admitted already in the directory ?
They previously said that the daughter who is in the directory was admitted EA.
Did you ever go to MyUTK and attempt to set up your NetID?
