Legacy from grandparents used to be weighed in Wisconsin’s admissions process. Is this no longer the case? Is legacy preference in admission still legal in the state of Wisconsin?
Sadly, the high stats needed to get into a top 50 college are not about selecting for the ability to be successful in college. It’s about selecting among thousands of applicants for a limited number of spots. The exception being the admissions process at moderately selective state universities.
If it was about success in college, UNC could absolutely set a minimum GPA, SAT, and number of AP classes and choose by lottery the students who meet that threshold.
No longer a factor.
Probably what they should do.
I hate to contribute to anxiety but we are looking for clues too. LOL (we are all nuts). Does everyone have the “MY UW Housing” one? I assume so but grasping at straws.
Also, I just realized it’s entirely possible my son added that when setting up his home page. So ignore me. I’ll go back to suffering in silence like a good parent should.
I have the housing one, just get starrez housing errors if I try to log into it. I know for NYU if you could access the starrez housing portal you were accepted, though Wisconsin might do it differently. Has anyone had luck getting into it?
Specifically, in the housing portal there is a section called “new incoming undergraduate students.”
I dont see any Housing App on the home page, so it could be a sign.
Go to https://my.wisc.edu/ then login and go to the menu bars in the top left, scroll through the different apps till you find the housing app.
Thank you, login fails. Hopefully it’s still early.
I can click on the app but when I try to log in it says “Login to StarRez Portal failed. Reason: Login error. Please try again.”
Same here.
Does anyone else have L&S honors program applications in their recommended opportunities?
I don’t even see a “recommended opportunities” option.
In the scholarship hub
Yes. I see it there.
We do not have that. Could be a good sign for you!
My son did not apply L&S but he has a similar scholarship options for the school he applied to in his recommended opportunities. Do only L&S students see that, or do others who did not apply to LS have it, too?
No remark, sorry
