UT Austin Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

I got the same thing!

When did you all fill out the fasfa?

Like late October

We got the same thing but we got it back in October.

Did you get the email again in the past couple of days? Did you add any new colleges in late December to the FAFSA you already filed in October?

I filed in October but only recently got the notification that they received it like a day ago. I want to hope it has to do with admissions and/or an incoming wave but I’m starting to think that’s unlikely

This email likely does not mean anything. I submitted a FAFSA in November, and got such an email. Recently, I modified the list of schools for the second batch of applications, and received the same notice again on Tuesday. I realized that I didn’t remove UT from the second list as I had enough space for other new schools. Nothing has changed on the admission portal so far.

BTW, the emails were from ask@finaid.utexas.edu

Well that’s a bummer. What about log in access to My UT, does everyone have those or only admitted or about to be admitted students?

This is the link: Sign in with your UT EID - Stale Request

I have access to that link and have not been admitted yet.

I can get her into that. It’s the same as for checking the status portal.

the 1st of October

Its likely. We received an email on November 9th, saying that UT received FAFSA from US Ed… No decision yet on the Admission portal.

We have access to My UT as well, not yet admitted. When I click on things like financial aid and pick next year as the aid year, it gives me a message to the effect of “this is for current students or students newly admitted. you are not an admitted student.”

same here. If you check the CASH, it says the same thing.

I think its safe to say that it doesn’t mean anything.

Now if you got an email saying to go check your package or they are asking for clarifying info, that is a good sign. Same thing happened to my kid once she got into Oregon State.

does the message in MyStatus under the financial aid tab that says “We have received your application for financial assistance. Please check back in the coming months for more information.” mean that they have received my fafsa? or should I have received an email?

End of December 2020

For everyone who received an email asking for more info on the FAFSA, I got mine the same day I was admitted. It is very possible that there will be a wave today?

Was it asking for more info or was it just “we’ll notify you if we need more”?

This is the email I received at 4:38 PM, PST on Dec 10.
