I’m reminding my daughter how her dad got a Liberal Arts degree in Psychology at UT–and he went on to have a successful career in finance. Even got his MBA while in his finance job. My daughter is bummed, feeling like Liberal Arts is upsetting, but it’s not! Life is long, so much promise and opportunity with being young. (And I got a Liberal Arts degree, too, at UT, in English, lol. Loved it.)

My son will be majoring in Econ at UT (BS track) and deciding between a minor in Finance or Accounting (leaning towards Accounting now)…as you said yourself, a very successful “business” career can be had with a UT Econ degree…especially if you do the fast track to McCombs Masters with their bridge program!

Son accepted into MechE! Auto- admit. SAT 1570, GPA 4.0, 13 APs, lots of engineering ECAs and leadership. Now will be waiting for honors decision.
Honors tab updated for Plan 2 - deferred; engineering still says “submitted.”
I got this - “The Office of Admissions is still in the process of reviewing your application for your selected major. At this time, we do not have an update to post to your MyStatus account. When we are ready to post and communicate a decision to your MyStatus account, you will receive an email notification to return and check your MyStatus account.” I’m an AET major (Fine Arts), when do decisions of those usually come? it says no alter than march 1st, but do I really have to wait that long?
What time do UT decisions come out for International Applicants?
