Not yet (engineering honors). I expect at least 2 weeks wait. They said decision will be announced by March 1.
still waiting for BHP ā¦no word on interview yet
Hi my student was admitted to urban studies
Any word on CSB HONORS? anyone waiting for that or heard any updates?
Make sense. This year they worded the honors deferrals differently. From what I gather, some of the committees may have just not gotten around to reviewing all applications yet.
^Just an observation/guess nothing absolute or 100% fact
For a reference for next year
Out of 80 odd kids who were auto-admit from our school, about 14 were admitted to McCombs.
Any Plan II updates for anyone?
If applying to CS, he should have taken and received Aās in AP Comp Sci A, AP Comp Sci P, and demonstrated a passion for the major by engaging in multiple ECās that are comp sci related and written a compelling major essay. Having high test scores, gpa, and rank wonāt cut it for CS. Perhaps he did all these things and was still not admitted to major. If that is the case, I am so sorry and very disappointed in UT
Yes. My friendās son has definitely done all these and probably more and still didnāt make the cut. I know him personally, and heās definitely not just high stats and nothing else.
Hoping heāll get great news in March.
How would I know if I got into the Take the World by The Horns program!
Was anyone else rejected from McCombs but deferred by CBHP? What does this mean?
My oldest applied to STEM programs as a class of 2019 HS grad, and none of it āmade senseā because so many kids who had top 1% stats and had done everything right were just not getting in. One of his friends was denied UT in state, but then went to Harvard. It just seemed nuts! And it gets more competitive every year. More students apply at a rate of about 10% a year, but the programs do not grow at a rate anywhere close to that. They canāt! This is the best explanation about whatās is going on Iāve seen. And itās from 2 years ago.
Has anyone heard back from the Health Science Scholars program?
Congrats! Which honors program? Still waiting on engineering here.
Plan ll and Moody Honors
COLA is a soft reject for these STEM kids, almost 100% wonāt enroll UT because there is no internal transfer path back to STEM.
Not yet
So does that mean when appeals process comes around there will be a bunch of open COLA spots?
Question about housing to make sure I understand the processā¦
Back in the fall, when my daughter submitted her application and was granted auto-admit status, she was asked to fill out a housing application. She didnāt pay a fee, as I believe it was waived because she also had an application fee waiver. I think the housing application was super generic and didnāt ask about specific dorms or roommates, but just indicated her preference to live on campus.
Fast forward to now; she didnāt get her first choice major at UT and still has several colleges to hear decisions on that wonāt be until the end of March. So while sheās not sure sheāll attend UT, she doesnāt know she wonāt and wants to ensure she gets on-campus housing in the fall should she choose UT. I am ok with forfeiting any deposits to ensure we are not stressed about housing.
Is the housing thing she filled out in the fall the same thing that some kids are doing now? Is she on the list to receive a housing contract on March 1? Does she have to pay the $200 enrollment deposit before any housing next steps are done?
I hope this makes sense. I donāt want her to miss a key step or date! TIA!
