What is ECE? Are you OOS?
ECE is Electrical and Computer Engineering. We are in Texas.
I have seen so many posts suggesting that admissions were wrong this year, the wrong people were admitted, that the admissions office made mistakes and would be reaching out to high-stats kids to let them know they actually did get into engineering etc. There was an extraordinary increase in applications. There was not an extraordinary increase in spots for competitive programs. Those programs tend not to expand at all or in small increments.

Thanks! It showed in the portal first (about an hour after receiving the admission decision), then an email confirmation came in the next morning.
Did any of the admitted students get their letter in the mail? My son is still waiting for his.

Yeah, I got mine a couple days ago, theyâre probably still shipping them out, considering they need to ship out 15,000 of them.

My son received his and thereâs a Texas sign, some stickers (assume for laptop decorations) and a Velcro UT Texas flag.

Do you receive this in mail even if you havenât accepted yet? (Waiting for March decisions before accepting UT.)
They sent this out to all admitted students. If your kid has been admitted to UT then you will get it, even if no decision has been made.

my son was admitted in October (auto-admit) and got his major on 2/1/2024. He is still waiting for the letter in the mail.
Ah I see. Hopefully it is in the mail now. They probably waited until bigger announcement was made and then mailed them all out together.
BTW, it didnât appear in the USPS Informed Delivery the day S24 got his.

My kid got his in the mail yesterday. Wish they would make USPS leave it at the door instead of squishing it in the mailbox. Sigh.
Is it worth it to do CAP if my major is bio? or is it better to go to another university and try to transfer for sophomore year? Thank youuuu
