I checked my Informed Delivery and I do not see anything from UT

Iâm really concerned. We have not received the âWelcome to Texasâ thingy. Also, it seems there are events being scheduled that we are not hearing about. And what is the Welcome to Texas event and when? What are the majors this is impacting? My son is ECE. Admissions isnât writing back to our concerns. FOMO going on over here ; )
Did anybody attend UT Zoom for engineers yesterday at 5:30pm? We missed it. What did they talk about? Anything interesting?
The Longhorn Welcome event for students doesnât happen until right before classes start in August. There is a week of events leading up to the first day of class. All of those times and dates are released in May.
My son is a freshman right now and I donât recall any specific events in the Spring after he got accepted, so I donât think youâre missing out anything. Between now and your student graduating high school, itâs just securing your housing contract, scheduling your orientation and then if youâre doing on campus housing, dorm selection is the first week of June. Thereâs an optional camp in the summer students can participate in thatâs like a big hype event (my son wasnât interested).
The UT website has all the dates and information for any events but 2024 schedule hasnât been released yet

Welcome to Texas is for selected students. Not everyone is invited.
Why? Does it just go to students who have not committed?
Do you know what type of students get invited?
We have not yet committed - waiting on a few more schools, and my daughter was invited for Theater.

My S just registered, and it was specific to his major (Architecture). I donât remember UT doing any accepted student events when my D was accepted back in 2022.
Horrifyingly, after asking Admissions why we arenât getting the emails or invites to things like Welcome to Texas, the Covert Admissions director wrote my son to say he has not accepted admission. He was a little snarky about it, TBH. (like, well, maybe the reason is you havenât accepted admission---- not a quote, but the gist). However, he did accept admission, back on the 7th of Feb, 6 days after acceptance (5 technically). He paid the $200 for enrollment. He has also signed his dorm contract that came out in the first batch. Iâm just perplexed. Anybody else having a Twilight Zone moment?
This is really odd. My son has not yet accepted his admission and getting a bunch of emails from UT anyway. This could not have been the explanation for not receiving emails. So sorry you are having bad experience. I hope this was just some bad apple from admissions having a bad day. Did you get a response from New Student Center regarding missing emails?
