UT Austin Class of 2028 Official Thread

I agree

My thoughts too. That’s mostly why they send out the blanket email yesterday wishing everyone happy holidays.

Do you think there will be a drop today? I do.

I would bet for no more drops until mid-January, but would be happy to get a happy news earlier of course.

FWIW the website says this,
**The University will close on Friday, December 22 and reopen on Tuesday, January 2. If you need assistance during this time, Application Support Counselors will be available December 27 – 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Central at **
My guess is nothing will drop until January.

Then they could release Thursday too because they don’t want anyone calling on Friday wondering where their acceptance is

is anyone else seeing the same where the “my status” page is no longer saying in review.

My top few sentences before the big “Application Checklist” says

“Your freshman application completed on 11/03/2023 by our priority application deadline.
You’ve met our priority application deadline. If you indicated that you want your test score to be used in the holistic review process, your official test score(s) will need to be received by Wednesday, November 8, 2023 to be considered as part of your admissions application.
All supporting credentials must be received by Monday, December 11, 2023 to meet our regular deadline.
Your application for admission is in review. We have all the items we need to make your admission decision. As soon as your decision is made, it will be posted on this page and you’ll be notified by e-mail.
If you wish, you may cancel your application online.”

Mine says in review.

6pm EST I think

They sent happy holidays email yesterday, so that’s it, it’s 19th, everybody went home

Is UT Austin allowed to give preference to OOS applicant over instate because of higher tuition ? Assuming qualification are the same.

on the website it says - " **The University will close on Friday, December 22 and reopen on Tuesday, January 2. If you need assistance during this time, Application Support Counselors will be available December 27 – 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Central at 512-475-7399."

Meaning they are still there up until Thursday. I think that being said there will be another drop. :crossed_fingers:

They have to take all in-state top 6% applied, then not many spots left for oos and internationals. If you are OOS, expect around 10% acceptance rate, much more competitive than in state

I mean non-ranking in state vs OOS, same qualification

I hope there will be another drop too. But, it’s academia, half of the staff were gone and the other half ain’t in the mood to work for the last couple days. Plus no student worker.
