In my portal the status for Honors still says in review
Yes. My student OOS Moody admitted this EA cycle (Radio Television Film).
A competitive major but not a lengthy creative portfolio, so I do not know what made the difference.
For those applicants whose decision is now delayed until 2/15 and who also applied to the Honors program(s) in the Honors tab, did you notice that that status of those Honors applications is now “Ineligible”??? The status was “In Review” before this unexpected delay. It is bad enough that the EA applicants are essentially deferred en mass to 2/15 (same decision date as those in the RD round) but I sure hope this forced delay is not negatively impacting their Honors applications as well!
You aren’t supposed to ‘believe’ anything. UT Austin provided dates and potential outcomes. They haven’t deviated from any of those.
Mine went to “Ineligible” today morning, now switched back to “In-review”. Wait for a few hours, and it will switch back
@Nancb78 Could you please share his Stats?
Honors application still shows In-review for my son
I think you two can stop, neither party can convince the other, I am with Jpadal01, I don’t know who is on your side though.
Par for the course…funny story - last cycle (class of 2028) for their dorm selection assignments. In comparing them all on social media, along with the timestamp of the housing deposits, it was discovered the dorm selection assignments were handed out IN REVERSE ORDER…and people called, and they had to do a “redo” of the dorm selection assignments. “stuff” happens all the time i guess
Certainly, people can feel free to think the number of reads is 10k or 80k or some other random numbers, I am just trying to say what makes sense to myself.
we thank UT for so much fun ‘business’ to kill our time.
Yep. Honors Program status is now back to “In-Review”. Phew!
Has anyone’s student been invited to interview for business honors?
Where did you see that? Another friend told me their status changed as well but I do not see that on my daughters. Maybe it will show up with time.
…I take comfort in being on the side of reason, common sense and what the university actually said.
You are right! if you are not allowed to update your application then its not a defferal
Correct. A true deferral would be accompanied by both acceptances and denials. This was not. This is not a deferral. It’s a “we are in over our heads and need more time.”
Which is perfectly fine. It’s obviously hard to predict application numbers. But let’s be open and honest about it all.
True. Florida and FSU give such answers but it’s in February. They don’t tease January.
Just not True. USC does the exact same thing for the EA decisions which come out tomorrow. Only Admits and Deferrals to the RD date and no rejections. I guess you can have your own definition of True Deferral and that’s fine..But their comunication is much better. Since UT is doing this for the first time, it certainly needs more effective communication, I agree.
