I forced him to apply TAMU at the last minute, he still owes me an honor application there.
Ours did Baylor and UTD and UTSA as in state safeties. Lots of communication from Baylor, some friends’ kids love it. But I know ours had bled burnt orange from the day he was born.
So sorry to hear that but at least it’s a definitive answer so you can move on! Son was just waitlisted at UNC but we count our blessings with the UMich Ross acceptance. Many great opportunities will come your way. Just have patience. Best of luck!
My daughter was rejected by UNC as well.
Thank you! It’s all good - got his major at UT on 1/15. I MADE him apply to alternatives. He was auto and was just going to apply to UT alone and roll the dice knowing he could be happy studying lots of things. That is why Polymathic (the interdisciplinary honors program) will be a great fit for him.
Was he accepted ED or EA?
Will mid Feb decisions include PACE and CAP?
I’m guessing they will. They’ll either Accept, Reject, Waitlist, CAP or PACE
EA. I don’t think USC has ED.
Does anyone else show a new transcript was submitted last week? I just looked at my sons portal under his documents and it shows a new transcript on 1/24/2025 was submitted.
Midyear transcript maybe?
Yes I assume so, just didn’t know it would be submitted. Hopefully they take the updated transcript into consideration when evaluating for admissions.
Check the common app Mid year report for UT. If your counselor submitted it then you would know its the mid year report
Yes I see it there, I just did not know they did that.
Your school probably either does automatic mid year reports or if you paid parchment to send a mid year to a uni in the group of top schools that require MYRs, it probably automatically goes to ALL the schools listed in your Common App. Just a guess on that though.
Thanks, he was asking if he should submit a new transcript since he was deferred and his last semester grades are also good, rank went up and his % went up a bit, always in top 6% but moved from top 3% to top 2%. I told him that I didn’t think it matters but maybe it does? Patientiy waiting.
You can always upload docs, whether they look at them or are required to look at anything new is anyone’s guess especially since they said do not send letters of continued interest like other unis do when in deferral limbo. We uploaded an updated resume late December. Even though the webiste says the cutoff for admissions docs was 12/11, it says nothing specific about honors docs so we figured it couldnt hurt, only possibly help (mine had added 5 months of awards and service and clinical hours to add since initial application in August). Same with AP scores, sent them since it hopefully “added value” if they looked at them, if not, just out some $.
Sometimes CAP and PACE decision days are different than other decisions. But I would hope that they all come on the same day. I’ve had students in both programs. Oldest son received PACE. No idea how/why, but we were VERY impressed and excited when we went to parent orientation the first weekend of June at UT. Great other families, great kids, lower tuition and fees cost, with all of the benefits of being at UT, on campus. Even had their own First Year Interest Group that was so well organized and ‘on-point’. Counseling and meetings each week. My youngest is doing CAP now at UTSA and loving it there, but excited to be back in Austin in the fall.
If you choose the CAP route, make sure that you are logged in and ready to select your school of choice before they ‘open it’. The spots for UTSA and UT Arlington go very quickly.
Any updates?
