Got deferred from UT Austin on 1/15 and by chance I stumbled over my.utexas.edu/student thinking I’m checking the admission portal. Can you check what you see if you log in into this link?
Looks like mid year reports are automatically getting sent by counselors. We can see it on my status portal though our school didn’t officially release it yet
Oh yeah i think I remember mine said the seniors last year could see there rank and gpa early sometimes…where is it in that site?…spoke too early, mine has nothing listed yet. They take so dang long to process transcripts here!
Just received an “Admission Update” email. Interesting how they are just laying out the options now.
Going to be a fun day today.
Too bad UT did not want to join the party.
My kid only did 2 EAs, UT and UIUC, we are expecting to receive another deferral today at 4pm, a rejection probability is just as high.
What did it say?
Also received this “Admission Update” email laying out the decision options but UT should have sent this out BEFORE 1/15 to set everyone’s expectation…not more than 2 weeks PAST the notification date. It was anticlimactic and frankly did not improve our view of UT’s debacle.
Interesting that there is an Option to join the waitlist if you get a decline. They don’t want waitlists
Same.
First impression veli important, UT AOs earned lousy from my experience.
Can you share the details of the email?
The update is that there is no update. It basically says they will receive a decision on Feb 15. Duh…we already expected that.
I’m intrigued by PACE do they offer that to OOS applicants? My son has good grades but his ACT is meh he’s sort of an ideal PACE candidate, but no clue on if they offer it to OOS. Has anyone had a child do this regardless? Our older son is at UT now he got Early Priority admitted in 22 when it was still TO. This son just got admitted EA to UW Madison so we’re plenty happy - it can only get better (and warmer lol).
Am I the only one annoyed by the fact that they titled the email subject line as “Admissions Update-Decision Information?” I know I’m overthinking, but it sounds misleading. Why bother sending this message now? They should have sent it Jan. 1st.
This actually lowers my thoughts. This will get a lot of kids excited.
Agree, why send the presumable deferred email on 1/15, just to send this redundant, get your hopes up, email.
Anyone continuing to defend Texas in this process and claim it’s all gone to plan as they’ve laid out is crazy.
treat that email as a soft apology, UT might be pressured to send that out.
As time goes by, anger, disappointment and surprise all get alleviated regardless of what UT does.
In the end, people will settle with the decision, the process will be forgotten.
Hope is still there!
if an OOS school treats my kid like UT does, I sure will throw that school to the garbage bin.
