My son unexpectedly heard from a friend who got accepted tonight to go to UT with. A kid who lives one street over that he has known since elementary. What a RELIEF!

I got in for biology! I’m super excited, as I wasn’t confident about my application. I’m really glad it worked out … I wasn’t keen on any of my other schools.

Even my Turing and Honors Honors says it is In-Review. When do we hear on that? What will be the process of selection?

My guess is instate students might get priority over OOS for Turing Scholars? I have no idea how it works.

DD applied for nursing and got CAP. She doesn’t want to CAP, but her dad wants her to stay in DFW at UT Arlington and then transfer to UT. She’s trying to decide between Twin Cities and CWRU now.
Portal says I have to accept the offer of admission and pay a deposit before I can apply for housing. It does not allow me to submit a housing application
I already applied for housing in October. It says now, contracts are mailed out in March.
UW Madison, Purdue, Stevens, Binghamton and Stony Brook, RIT, RPI, and WPI! I am applying into graphic design/interactive media majors
What I didnt really like with UT Austin’s application is that they have you make a singular piece instead of present an entire portfolio, which feels narrow and was probably a weakness of mine
But yeah again, not too bummed. Hoping your daughter has got good places too, architecture is rad
Son Accepted Biomedical Engineering! Auto admit but was waiting on major.
Top 5% In State, 4.0 UW, 5.36 W, 14 APs plus Dual Credit and PLTW classes. 1510 SAT. Lots of EC’s and Leadership including FRC Robotics Captain, Medical Research, President/VP of 4 clubs. Invited to apply for 40 Acres but not selected. Waiting on Eng Honors.
Happy for those accepted and feel for those who weren’t. The bar has just gotten higher and higher for UT with so many apps and it’s hard to know. Son is leaning another direction right now so if he does decide we will let them know immediately so hopefully that spot opens up for someone else.

Yes they start mailing contract every 15 days starting in March to those who paid the $50 deposit and accepted and paid the $200 enrollment fee. Be on the lookout as it will have an expiration to returned signed+$300 housing fee (which goes towards the housing bill). Once you return the signed contract, you will get your dorm selection window in late May/early June. Windows are handed out in the order of the $50 housing deposit and the selection itself takes place midJune. If you do you send the housing contract+fee back before the deadline on it expires, I think you go to the “end of the line” for a contract! Remember they do not have enough dorm space for all freshmen (which is why there are several off campus private dorms in the West Campus area on the other side of Guadalupe)
