Do yall think it’s likely to get off the waitlist
I applied for housing in October. You do not need to even be admitted prior to applying. But you must accept the admission offer and pay the $200 deposit before they will even send you the housing contract (expected to start mailing from March 1st)
CS is the most difficult to get into. Last year acceptance rate was 7% and likely dipped even further this year. They have like 650 offers going out but received more than 10K apps in just CS.
Hi, just thought I’d hop on here and share what happened with my daughter last year. She was auto-admit/top 6% and had applied for CS but got rejected. She decided to take the Undecided COLA, with the plan to pivot to a BS in Econ. But then! In April, UT offered her the ATP (Accelerated Transfer Program) for CS. (ATP is where you take 3 CS courses and 1 Calc, and so long as you get C’s in all of them, you’re automatically a CS student your sophomore year.) We were over the moon, so excited and grateful. So, for you auto-admit CS applicants who didn’t get it, maybe there’s still a chance? (Btw, the offer first came as a text; we thought it was a prank at first, lol.) Anyway, just thought I’d share. Oh, and my daughter had accepted her enrollment in Feb., so not sure if that has bearing on getting the ATP offer in April.
15th is Saturday, is it possible that they may announce results on Friday 14th?
I’m guessing Thursday or Friday. I don’t know why they put a Saturday when they have not released on a Saturday previously?
I’m so sorry. I honestly feel that international applicants should not even be considered. I think it’s weird that state colleges will accept such a limited number of out-of-state applicants because “we don’t pay in-state taxes” yet give those spots to out-of-country applicants to “round out” their freshmen pool and they don’t even pay federal taxes. Make it make sense.
I don’t even know how to make this process fair. It’s just tough to watch your kid feel discouraged when they have worked so hard and you know they could thrive in this environment. I just have to trust.

Right there with you
Are you ideologically opposed to all public universities accepting international applicants, or just UT Austin?
Does anyone remember when advisors started disappearing last week? Specifically Engineering?
Anyone receive a letter in the mail from admissions? My instate student was accepted 1/15 and has already received the Gone to Texas package. I can see scans of my mail and looks like a letter is coming today that was send out Friday from Texas admissions. Just a regular business sized envelope. Could this be regarding Engineering Honors?? Anyone familiar with how they inform you? Thanks!
We received again one yesterday, its an acceptance letter again.
I think it was on last Tuesday as per reddit Reddit - The heart of the internet
Standard letter from UT President Hartzell welcoming them into the Longhorn family.
Thank you!
Where can u see assigned advisors?
My son sees his here. He is still waiting on his admissions decision but so far the advisor has not been removed. https://utdirect.utexas.edu/ns/ns.advisor.WBX
Is there any relation between having an advisor and possible acceptance?
