I do wonder if admissions officers realize how much the timing matters. For one of my kids, UVA was a top choice. But she heard from her SCEA school six weeks before the UVA decision, and in those 6 weeks, she began to fall in love with the school that had already accepted her. Her decision could easily have gone the other way had UVA been first.
What school
Good luck everyone! As an oos person I really donāt think Iām getting in but oh well.
@āDean Jā Do you have the statistics/class profile for the EA acceptances yet?
Also, why is this thread so dead? Over 40,000 students applied to the university, and the majority of those were Early Action, yet there are 83 total posts on this forum.
This Friday it is! Good luck to everyone and remember that no matter what the outcome, we are all going to end up where we are supposed to be and it will be good. That being said, I still am very nervous about it.
Everyone is on reddit. ![]()
The stats always go up on the blog when I get them.
Good luck, everyone. Please contact me directly (DM on instagram, email, or tweet) if you need me. There are so many places I need to be in the next 48 hours that I wonāt be able to check in here.
What is the reddit feed for UVA called?
I canāt find it either. Iāve looked a few times.
There isnāt a specific feed for 2020 applicants. Most of the info is on r/ApplyingToCollege/
Does anybody know if there is a specific time that we will be receiving our decisions? The only thing Iāve seen is that they will be released during the āeveningā.
what time are decisions supposed to be out?
Last year, decisions were released at 5 p.m. Eastern.
Applying the same logic to tomorrowās decisions as was used on the Early Decision releases in December, we should be receiving statistics on her blog around noon tomorrow, and updates to applicant status around 5 pm EST, as stated by @drgigantor
Just curious- if someone was deferred from ED, do they find out today? If not when?
@jgwolf, all ED applicants were deferred to regular decision.
Per blog, OOS admission rate was 15%, instate 35%. Thousands deferred.
Not looking optimistic for OOS - from DeanJ blog, 17,910 OOS applicants and only 15% accepted. http://uvaapplication.blogspot.com/
Is anyone rejected in EA, or are all rejected people deferred to RD?
OOS: 15% accepted, 26% deferred, and the rest rejected.
In-state: 35% accepted, 25% deferred, and the rest rejected.
