<p>Agreeing with above posts - other than the avatars, which are kind of fun, I see no benefit or improvement to the site whatsoever. Colossal fail.</p>
<p>Here’s one plus I discovered. I only go to a few sites. By going to my bookmarks and clicking on one of those in the thread of choice, I then not only get to the thread I like, but can also click again to that forum. </p>
<p>Example: I went to my bookmarks, then clicked on this thread which was bookmarked, then can more over to all of Parent Cafe discussions. I like this because it shortens my search to specific forums.</p>
<p>I still dislike all this white, the lack of numbered posts within a thread, and the too-small poster name/too-large avatar but I hope that will be fixed in a few days. Meanwhile, what’s with the Pre-Med topics forum? Can’t get open.</p>
<p>What I hate is that everybody’s name is so small–and the font is harder to read. Or is it just me?</p>
<p>OK, I clicked on my name (upper right) and then clicked on inbox (upper left) and “My bookmarks” appeared as well as “My threads”. Threads is the old bookmarks! Can I consolidate them and get rid of the threads button?</p>
<p>There is also “best of” just below that. I clicked on it and got a weird hodgepodge of posts, most of which were from threads I hadn’t looked at. What is this?</p>
<p>I still miss subscribing to certain forums. </p>

<p>Need post numbers back. Hate the font/white screen/spacing. Don’t like the FB thing. Don’t think I should be able to look at PM’s to other people for sure. Need the yellow stars back/red stars. Don’t care about anyone’s dog as an avatar but would like to be able to read their name at least.</p>
<p>Okay, Add me to the people complaining about the lack of post numbers. I also have a lot of ‘real estate’ on my screen with CC just taking the middle section. Is there a way to get this to spread out? I have 3-4 inches on the left and right of my screen that has nothing. It’s like CC is set up to show in columns and only the middle column has anything. Very annoying- along with the white back ground- it hurts my eyes. X_X </p>
<p>I’m also having trouble reading names. I do love seeing all the pets!</p>
<p>In the “Latest Posts” page, why do the pinned threads show up first? They take up more than half of the first page.</p>
<p>Another thought, when comparing this forum to other forums, some offer a little pop up box showing the first few sentences of the post when you hover over the thread title, so when the title is nebulous (think financial aid forum) you can tell if it’s worth opening.</p>
<p>I don’t believe you can see other folks’ PMs. I’ve tried to see some others, and they have tried to see mine. You are seeing VISITOR messages…not PMs.</p>

<p>I had an issue deleting a Reply I had started, but decided not to post. I had to save it as a draft, then go delete the draft. </p>

<p>trying to like the new format, but the old site just seemed so much more…efficient, user friendly…among other things. Missing it…sniff.</p>
<p>Can’t find a way to view last page or posts of a thread. That is a huge limitation. Also, when we get an email that someone posted on a thread, it doesn’t quote the post any more, which was great before. </p>
<p>Duplicate post. The system no longer warns you if you’re making a duplicate post, 2 in a minute. </p>
<p>I agree with somemom that it would be nice to see a part of the first post when you hover over the thread title. Many other forums have that feature, and that would have been a “wow!” for me.</p>
<p>Also, when typing this reply, I managed to type “man” instead of “many” but couldn’t correct it, because the emoticon icon was over the spot where I needed to get my cursor. How is that an improvement?</p>
<p>With all the white space, the pages are very long and require a lot of scrolling to get to the bottom. If this stays, then please provide links at the bottom as well as the top of the page to get to previous areas. For example, at the top I can choose to click on any of the following:
Home / College Discussion / College Admissions and Search / Parents Forum / Parent Cafe</p>
<p>So I could easily jump back to parent forum. At the bottom the only choices I have are:
Home • Parent Cafe </p>
<p>So I have to do a lot of scrolling to get back to the top if I want to go anywhere other than Home or Parent Cafe from the bottom of this page on this thread.</p>
<p>The phone is very limited for finding the most recent post on this version. It was fine on prior version. </p>
<p>A very basic lists for improvements:</p>

<li>Make the color less white. An off-white or slightly beige background would be better.</li>
<li>Reduce the amount of empty space.</li>
<li>Make the font size larger.</li>
</ol>
<p>As of now, this is not an improvement. The only change I like is the “Like” button.</p>
<p>How do you delete old pm’s in this new site? Anyone try, yet? I can’t make it work on ipad. I can view them, but not delete them. Is that something that only works correctly on computer? </p>
