Auburn University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

Yes- Email received at 5.27pm. Said it was an invitation only event, but I assumed it was a marketing Email. It did make him feel good and ready to submit the application!

Yes, my student got the invite as well. In the applicant portal it says it is an invitation only event. War Eagle :eagle:

My son (applied in early Aug) just received one as well. We are planning to go Nov 9. He is excited… hope this invite is a positive sign on admissions chances

The FAQ did say for ā€˜outstanding prospective students’!

That’s really interesting! Looking at threads past, it looks like not everyone gets an invite but many do.

Did he already send his test scores? I wonder if that would matter?

No test scores or application sent yet. I looked through a couple of old threads last night, and I am pretty sure that someone was deferred who had been invited to War Eagle Day, and had already made plans to go, so I don’t think it is a predictor of admission chances.

ā€œWhat are War Eagle Days?

War Eagle Days are invitation-only campus visitation days for outstanding prospective Auburn students and their families. They differ from traditional campus visits in that they include an opportunity to meet with academic, student and staff representatives, as well as attend information sessions focusing on the admissions process.ā€

Interesting. Not sure we should bother with a trip then.

Yes, I saw that on the website. If there are info sessions on the admissions process then it makes sense that it is a marketing tool to get prospective students to apply who have not applied yet. I guess if you have already applied, then you can skip those particular sessions. Not sure how they would know a student is ā€˜outstanding’ though

S25 got an invitation. We signed up for the November 25th session. We selected Fall 2024 - assuming it’s a typo. He applied on August 1st. We’re in easy driving distance and will reevaluate when decisions come out in October. Fingers crossed!

I wonder how they got your son’s and your email if he hasn’t expressed interest.

My son filled out an on-line interest form on the Auburn website last Friday, so that is how they have his email. I think he input name, address, E-mail and phone number.

I doubt they are sending these to 10-15,000 people…logistically it would be hard to arrange so many half-day info sessions covering multiple aspects of the school. And there are only two days in Novembe as options. Most likely this is based on some basic prescreen, i.e. some combination of GPA, test scores, location. Just my guess though.

Not sure how they would know any of this info unless they can see his common app data somehow. It’s a possibility I guess :woman_shrugging:

If he’s added them to his common app college list it looks like they do get some data. I didn’t know that.

I’m not sure how they determine the invites for War Eagle days. But just thought I would mention for those of you with higher stats kids -ie eligible for presidential scholarships -you will be receiving an invitation for a VIT (very impressive tiger) tour. Those invites are solely based on test scores. The VIT tours are individualized and give students the opportunity to meet with representatives from the honors college, from the academic departments of interest and have lunch with a current student. I’m pretty sure both of my kids received those invites sometime in October.

Any idea about test scores thresholds for those?

In the past VIThas been 33 - 36 ACT. You should sign up for that ASAP once you receive the invite.

Not necessarily. It’s fluid.
