Clemson University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admissions

I don’t know about “good” housing. This is exactly what isin the portal:

Fall housing applications will open February 12!

First-year students are guaranteed housing and required to live on campus. Photos and video tours of our residence halls can be found on the [Housing website].Note: Your enrollment deposit must be paid before you can apply for housing, and you will need to wait 24 hours after payment before applying for housing.

Opening housing on Feb. 12 when merit awards aren’t specified until late March is not the best.

Then, when you go into the housing website, the bottom section includes:

Select Your Academic Year Space

You will be emailed a specific timeslot during which you will select a space for you and your roommate(s) (if applicable).

  • May 19 – Time slot notifications sent in early evening to First-Year student Clemson email accounts
  • May 21 – Room Selection for First-Year Living-Learning Communities – LLC students who do not select will be assigned a space in their LLC
  • May 28-30 – Room Selection for First-Year students who did not select a community on the Community Choice page
  • All students will need to log in to the Portal to select their own move-in appointments after being assigned to a space.

Since it looks like they do consider application date after all, it doesn’t really matter when you fill out the housing application.

Believe February is when you can pay the deposit and start looking at roommates. My oldest is a junior and they didn’t start actually selecting dorm rooms until May.

My son was deferred - I have 2 other sons there already.

Do you recommend adding any additional information prior to Jan 10?

So my son just got home from school. Of the 15 or so kids that applied to Clemson, all were deferred except him. Some were higher stat kids applying to the closed majors listed above. I think you need to look at the same major when comparing acceptances and deferrals.

S25 is very interested in CUBS. What does your daughter think of it? How social, etc? He really wants to be in a social dorm.

8 from my sons school applied EA, I’ll find out from him if he has any details about their results…

He said about 15-20 applied to Clemson, UofSC and Tennessee. Those were the top OOS schools kids applied to. Class size about 170.

Deferred. OOS, 34 ACT, 4.3 wGPA, rank top 1/3ish (large extremely competitive high school), lots of great ECs, honors, etc. Applied business

I would! Have him update his first semester grades and write a letter of continued interest! I read where someone said that they were going to write something in the optional supplemental essay portion on the application.

Actually, I believe Biological Sciences is one the most popular, therefore competitive majors to be accepted into at Clemson. I could be wrong but that’s what I thought I’ve read.

Does Clemson want a LOCI? if ds didn’t submit the optional essay, can he do it now?

Deferred students should all have received an email from their state admissions counselor with this information. You can submit new information via the portal - resume, new test scores, new achievements etc. It all helps demonstrate continued interest.

But with a Jan 10 deadline, how much new stuff could anyone really have to submit? With decisions coming out last night, they’ve presumably received and reviewed fall grades and updated test scores. What else would even sway them that they don’t already have and will revisit over the next few months? If the deadline were later on perhaps. It just doesn’t make much sense to me.

A personal statement or resume if one was not previously provided can be beneficial. Some students will have new information to report since they submitted their applications.

Our school does semester grades, so they would have a new transcript to supply at the end of December. Maybe any new awards or leadership roles. Or if they didn’t do the optional essay the first time around, may consider doing that.

Meaning, the essay on the common app? That’s how he applied to all schools and he did that essay.

I thought I remembered for Clemson that you could submit the general common app essay but then there was an additional section to include another essay or resume. Maybe I’m mis-remembering. These applications are all starting to run together!
