Aww thank you so much!
Where else did yours all apply that are thinking this will be a stretch. Mine did USC IU (got prebuisness but no word on petition) and Michigan State.
Thank you so much - yes I get it - I was trying to just point out the huge increase in let’s say - ALL Southeastern schools in the last couple of years?
Good luck to everyone tomorrow.
cumulatively, of course there are. On any given year, the % accepted is quite small relative to the quality of some students applying. The acceptance rates are comparable, if not lower, than some Ivy’s
that isn’t my impression based on gestalt and rankings, but the acceptance rates tell a different story and I think that is in part because VT is drawing from a larger population of qualified in-state students?? Honestly, I don’t know the answer. I do know that I’ve had two kids get EA acceptances at Clemson, and both waitlisted at VT
Very interesting.
No, not either of them.
I know. Sorry if me being silly didn’t come across.
No it totally did - I was being silly back
Everyone is too stressed to appreciate humor right now maybe.
I appreciate it - it’s what gets me through this - it’s like I have hopes but I am starting to think outside of the obvious (super high stats across the board) it can be somewhat random. I think all colleges are trying to round out their class - so I have a shot if they want someone with my profile from my state - but tbh I have never felt so generic in my life hahah
For EA deferred students, what percentage do you think Clemson will accept, versus put on the dreaded waitlist?
I think this is been asked a couple of times in past day or two without a response, so I’ll give it a stab. My general understanding is that being deferred to RD at Clemson really doesn’t equate to being denied. In fact, I’ve read that they want to move away from the word deferral because of a negative connotation that tends not to be as true here, as maybe some schools. They prefer simply framing it as a reset and review at regular decision, and the overall acceptance rate at RD review is 38% (with the overwhelming majority of total admitted students admitted at RD) compared to an EA acceptance rate of about 31%. So, while it remains competitive, a LARGE number of students will get accepted at RD. Hope that helps
This is really helpful! Thanks for sharing. Any insight into whether or not they accept test optional applicants??
112 out of 11000 on the waitlist. That’s why I feel like colleges need to not string students along. I’ll never understand why all the waitlists have to be so deep, just really creates so much unnecessary anxiety for so many hopeful students. Wish colleges could just offer waitlist to say 1000-2000 (max) so the remaining students could focus on other schools and move on.
In 2023 they accepted a lot off the waitlist, but I think that was an anomaly looking at 2024 above.
This doesn’t answer your direct question but my son and best friend both were accepted OOS EA and both were TO.
I assume yes because they are accepting a large majority of the matriculating class RD and I think a significant number apply test optional. My guess is they are a mix of test optional and test provided.
