@momofboiler1, that’s the other issue that is still under investigation.
The issue that is resolved is on mobile and is impacting most of the users.

Is anyone else still having this issue? Because I am.
Yes, it’s back for me too.
At least for me it seems to be jumping a bit differently from how it used to. In the past it almost always jumped way back to old posts. Now it seems more common that as soon as I open a thread (and at random times during reading a thread) it jumps forward past the last post all the way to the very end of the page.
Yes I am, especially on my computer. I’m always taken to the bottom of the thread instead of to the posts.
Something else I’ve just noticed recently. ( @CC_Sorin , let me know if I should start a separate thread.) When someone posts a reply to a previous poster, it shows the poster name in the upper right corner, and if you click on that, it shows the text of the previous post in a quote box above the new post.
It still works that way on my pc (Win 11, Firefox). But starting a few days ago, on my iPhone (Safari) it takes me back in the thread to the post that’s being replied to. And the “back” button doesn’t go back to the new post, it backs all the way out of the thread. Is that intended? A side effect of something else? A setting I didn’t realize I had changed?
We have a release scheduled for tomorrow, which we hope will solve some of these issues. I’ll update you when it’s live. Thanks for bearing with us!
@CC_Sorin I am still getting taken to the end of the opening page when I go to a new thread or open this forum. No change.
Same
Me three
It actually seems worse today than yesterday.
Now it seems to be working fine for me ![]()
Still takes me to the bottom. And on threads, I mean the bottom of the page, not the bottom of the thread.
@thumper1, I have reported the issue when it was first flagged. The tech team could not replicate it, but they have successfully deployed a release aimed at solving the issue of the jumping around. I communicated to them yesterday that the issue still persists as per the reports. They may need further details but I am waiting to hear back.
For all who are experiencing issues, can you please help us replicate them by following the steps below?
Capture a screen recording video of the problem, including the state before it occurs and the action taken to reproduce the problem. So in @thumper1’s case from your link, I’d like to see how they are getting to a new thread and/or opening the forum (from a link, bookmark, typing the URL, etc). Here’s a guide on how to take a simple screen recording on macOS and here’s a guide for iOS.
Try using a different browser and see if the same issue persists. I think every user reporting these issues is using Safari, so trying in Chrome would rule out a browser-specific bug.
Try visiting the site in a new incognito/private browsing mode session. This starts a brand new browser session to rule out anything to do with data cached in their browser.
Try visiting the site in Safe Mode. This disables all themes and frontend plugin code to help determine whether the issue is related to the custom theme, embedded scripts, etc. versus core Discourse code. To visit the site in safe mode, they can use the following URL: College Confidential Forums - Admissions Discussions and Threads
I always wonder why only some posters have these jumping around issues, and using Safari may well explain it.
Could there also be a PC vs Mac issue?
I’m having the same problem in Chrome and in incognito mode from my Mac laptop.
iPhone is working without issue.
Same here. @CC_Sorin this all happens very fast. I am taken to the bottom of the opening page, or thread, and just scroll up to get to where I want to be.
iPad using Safari. I won’t use Chrome…sorry.
Not to be rude, but the suggestions offered totally miss the fact that this is a “you” issue, not a “me” issue. Any solution that requires users to do something different than they do for any other site just highlights the unsatisfactory UX
I’ve used 2 different browsers on both mobile and laptop with the same issues. I’m not an Apple user, so that’s not a fix. I have solved the issue by using the app - which isn’t supported
