LOST (the tv series) anyone?

Gotta agree with franglish, not as good an episode as I was hoping… maybe its just because the last few have been so good, oh and yea… too much Jack.

Loved the “Who cares?” line! Not sure about if there’s a reason behind Sayid’s arrest other than they are trying to reproduce the fact that Kate was in custody on the original flight. I’m sure we’ll eventually see how they were all “convinced” to come back, and I’m sure Ben was involved somehow.

So do we have any theories as to why they didn’t actually crash? Was there a time warp just as the plane was about to crash and therefore only the 6/7 of them got transported through time while the plane was left to crash in real-time… yea… ok.

First, complaints: I did NOT like the Eloise Hawking part. Too much explanatory gobbledygook conveniently wrapped in a neat little bow. Sort of hokey.
Am also getting tired of all the angst with Kate and Jack.
But the rest I liked. I’m glad the focus is headed back to the island.

Was anyone else suprprised to see Ben Linus in church being all spiritual and lighting a candle – or was it just an act? His “Who cares?” line on the plane was more in keeping with his personality. As for the other people on the plane, I’m guessing we’ll see a lot more of them. Have we seen the woman with Sayid before? I can’t recall.
I think Lapidus looked better before – I liked the long hair and beard look :)

Another thinig - if they needed the whole bunch of them to return to the Island for whatever plan it is to work, then why not Aaron?

And - why was the side of Ben’s face all bloody and scratched? S1 said there’s a theory that he may have finally killed Penny (in revenge for Widmore killing his daughter). Could this be what he was doing in church-- some sort of pre-penance? Hope not!

Ben’s call to Jack came from the docks…definitely leading us to believe he had been looking for Penny. This could be what motivates Des to head to the Island…Revenge! But what about poor little Charlie!!!

I also believe Charlie appeared to Hurley! Must have missed how he got out of jail.

Kate really acting strange. Angry to devasted to uncomfortable with Jack. Did she give him to Claire’s mom or did someone take him to make sure she went back to the Island???

Loved that Frank was the pilot!!!

There’s a theory that Claire appeared to Kate and influenced her to go to the island, but I’ll bet it had to do with Aaron. Maybe Claire said, “Bring Aaron to the island and give him back to me!” So Kate took Aaron to his grandmother’s instead and went to the island to confront Claire.

TWOP boards remind us that Desmond and Penny were in Boston with the boat so could not get it over to a marina in LA in such a short time - that Desmond had to have flown out west so Penny and baby Charlie would not be at a marina. Presumably they are with him since they will never part again. :stuck_out_tongue: Of course they just might like boats so much that they rented/bought one…

It was an interesting show even thought there was no shirtless Sawyer, always a high point. The show is starting to answer old questions while it raises new ones. It’s fun how they find a way to integrate old anomolies (like the white shoes) into the current plotline.

I liked the episode.

My biggest problem: No one asked the ONE question I would have asked first – once back on the island, how do you get off again?

I’m OK with Sun and Kate leaving the kids behind, but they didn’t bother to find out whether it’s a permanent or temporary absence.

confused…so what else is new? Desmond was in the chapel in LA with the rest of them and Eloise, wasn’t he? He told Penny that he had to go; just assumed that he left them on the boat… when he wasn’t on the plane, I (i guess stupidly) assumed he went back to them…anyone else have any idea?

FYI, the actor who played Michael is on a new ABC show previewed last night…can’t remember the name…

And what’s with Hurley and (Charlie’s?) guitar case? Is it the same kind of deal as with Jack and his dad’s shoes?

I don’t really enjoy a shirtless Sawyer. His shoulders are slumped or something. Looks a little strange to me.

Ajira 316
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John telling Jack he wished he believed in him. The bit about Jesus and Thomas and the resurrection. They will live forever if they believe in the island. Reincarnation anagram on the van carrying Locke. Simon’s butcher shop- Charlie’s dad named Simon who is a butcher.
Lots of interesting things: Jin’s Security jumpsuit in previews!
Mrs. Hawkings room with the US Army picture of the Island exactly 50 yrs earlier, the white rabbit at the nursing home, Jack in exact place on Island after crash…
Mrs. Hawkings saying they had to duplicate the conditions as much as possible or things would be unpredictable!

Everything reminds me of Ecko’s quote: Don’t confuse coincidence with fate.

OMG I love Lost!!! This episode was so trippy! I’m so glad that the O6 (minus Aaron?) are back on the island, I thought it would take the whole season. Anyways, the opening sequence was so cool, it was just like in season one when Jack wakes up in the jungle! I can’t wait till next week’s ep

Northminnesota - yes everything reminds me of Eko’s infamous quote, but wasn’t it “Don’t mistake coincidence for fate?” doesn’t matter, either way it means the same thing

ok…I’m not sure if this has already been discussed but why don’t Walt and Aaron have to go back? I mean, they were both on the plane and crashed on the island. Therefore, they should have also been on the plane. My only ideas on this is that they are “special” so it doesn’t matter if they go back or not??? Anyone else have any comments on this?

Regarding Aaron–you will remember that Claire came to Kate and told her not to take Aaron back to the island. When Kate showed up at Jack’s apt without Aaron, my DD’s theory is that she gave Aaron to Claire’s mother. Does anyone remember that although Jack told Kate that Claire’s mother was in town, he never told her that Claire was his half-sister??

I’m pretty much over Jack–Sawyer is my man now!

Awesome episode. I love how things are coming full circle. Yes, Jack’s daddy issues and assorted other problems are getting old, but then he dives into that waterfall . . . SuperJack to the rescue! So fun.
And Penny and Charlie better be OK. I could care less about Kate/Jack, give me Desmond and Penny! (Also, Sawyer is too good for Kate; I would love him with Juliet.)
Big concern: I sure hope Vincent is OK!

I thought last night’s episode was a good deal better than the week before. Hey, we saw Walt!! And didn’t he grow up?! Some answers to some of our questions from last week. But here’s a good one, for those of you who don’t live in NY: The license plate that we saw when John Locke/Jeremy Bentham was in NYC was very old. The Statue of Liberty plate was replaced a long time ago. So, just after that was when Locke saw Walt. Weird time travel there. Have to wait to figure that one out, I guess. Others’ impressions?

Dang! Once again I miss those little details (i.e. the license plate)!

I still think both Walt and Aaron will go back to the Island - maybe in the future, time travelling? as adults.

Why did Ben Linus get Eleanor Hawking’s name and THEN kill Locke? You’d think he would have already known about her. Also, are we supposed to think that between Widmore and Linus, that one is good and one is bad? Or are they two bad guys trying to duke it out until the Island’s rightful protector/leader (Locke? Walt?) appears?

I was so distracted while watching LOST last night trying to figure out why I couldn’t get on CC…lately that’s a bigger mystery than the TV shows…

lsp: We thought that something clicked in Ben’s head when John said he saw Eloise…and that maybe Ben realized that if John met with her, he may now know somehing about Ben and the island that Ben did not want revealed to the rest of the group…no, he really looked shocked when Locke said her name; I don’t think he knew she was there yet at that point…

on a completely unrelated note, does anyone else miss Fringe? easy packages, all tied up with bows at the end of each episode…? My 15 yr old D who has watched LOST since the 1st episode made this comment last night…I think she’s LOST her patience with LOST…

Not really unrelated since Lance Riddick is (was?!) in both. Fringe is made by the same crazy folks who are bringing us Lost. You probably know that, though, since you are bringing it up. And, YES!! I miss Fringe. It is really wonderful, creative and innovative way out on the, well,… Fringe. I think it will be back in April.

I love Fringe and am trying not to read too much into all these long breaks it keeps taking (like it’s in danger of being cancelled). The actor who plays Walter Bishop is such a treat.

I like Fringe, but sometimes I get tired of them trying to make Walter “extra-quirky” by having him say something like “p*nis” in every episode just for the shock value (I realize the word isn’t all that shocking, but hopefully you get what I mean). It reminds me of how the middle schoolers at my sons’ all-boys school talked.

haha…cleveland…oooo, you made the CC g-ds angry…yea, i know what you mean about the Walter thing, but that’s JJAbrams signature…I have a feeling the “Star Trek” movie will have the same type of character; actually, if you think about it, Spock used to have that quirky stuff in the series (w/o mention of body parts, of course)…wonder who will be the comic relief in the movie?
